We could see that it was important to Jorge to present the place in a good light and it was indeed a very pleasant experience to be there. Everything was great and I have no regrets about choosing Cabanas da Viscondessa for our stay.

Hotel Os Moinhos is located in São Jorge Island, with views over the highest mountain in Portugal, sited in nearby Pico Island. the grounds and views were amazing! nicely kept hotel rooms too.

This hotel is 200 metres from the shopping area of Velas and 1 km from the harbour. It features a terrace overlooking the garden, the outdoor pool, and the Atlantic Ocean. The view was amazing. Location was excellent. Right across the street from Car Rental. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Walking distance to many good restaurants and natural pool. 10 out of 10 for the staff…when we checked out at 6 am, it was raining so hard, the guy on duty at the front desk drove us to the ferry….(we had planned to walk to the ferry, and had not booked a taxi, so instead of letting us walk in the rain, we were grateful for the offer to drive us…he went above and beyond!!)

At the foot of the São Jorge Mountains, Hotel Solmar is less than 100 metres from the coastline. Its air-conditioned rooms overlook the Atlantic Ocean, Calheta Harbour or mountains. The room was clean and very spacious, equipped with an a/c which was very welcome in July. :) The location is great, close by a supermarket and restaurants. Good breakfast!

Situada em Velas, a Casa dos Lagos - RRAL nº 2187 oferece acomodações com WiFi gratuito e um jardim com terraço e vista para o jardim. We stayed in one of the studio apartments and it was beautiful. Good air con, fast WiFi and stunning views from the terrace. Furnishing was lovely and good use made of all available space. We wished we could have stayed longer.
