It was so peaceful and the house had everything we needed. We loved hearing the rural sounds, and the place was so easy to find. We were greeted as we drove up the driveway and check in was seamless. When we opened the door, we were greeted with a loaf of homemade bread, cookies, and jam from the Cooperative Bakery up the street along with milk and a large bottle of water. We cooked breakfast every morning, and when we weren’t out exploring, we enjoyed sitting on the front patio and watching the nearby cows and sheep grazing. And, given the size of the island (and the time of year we visited), we didn’t have any problem driving to Vila do Porto for more restaurant options (it was only 20 minutes away). However, we did enjoy our late morning coffee in one of the bars in the village of Santo Espirito.

Stop looking and book this house! it’s worth it! the beach it’s located on is absolutely gorgeous. The house was beautifully located, well decorated, and clean with many personal touches. The patio is wonderful for sitting outside and enjoying the sound of the waves. The host was extremely accommodating, informative, and friendly. I would highly recommend it and stay here again.

João is the friendliest host we have ever met! He was helpful in every single way and we can only recommend to stay at his place! The walk up is a challenge but definitely worth the view!

From the moment you arrive there is a feeling of being welcomed. For ever aspect of our stay Luís was there to assist, from restaurant reservations to trail info. Bella made us a welcome basket and homemade treats. For New Years there was champagne! Truly an amazing place in the most beautiful of settings.
