There was a massage chair in my room and the shower was next level. I had extra showers because it was like a space ship. I'm not kidding, if you stay there you will know. Also happy with the tea and coffee faciltiies. I also got a bonus welcome gift! Nice.

In the heart of the Blue Mountains with lots of eating options. Lots of great walks nearby. The 3 sisters are within walking distance so you can avoid the parking charges recently implemented in the area.

Katoomba main street is still struggling after covid with quite a few empty shop fronts however mother nature and her spectacular views make up for this. Scenic World as the main draw is always worth the trip and Nocturnal event is a new way to experience the Valley. Of course Echo Point and 3 sisters are a must as is Govetts Leap lookout. So many pretty towns around like Leura and if you have time take a little side teip to Lithgow. Highly recommend this trip. Parking is an issue around the town centre and usual tourist attractions but worth dealing with anyway.

Direct train from Sydney.
Direct train from Sydney. Very quaint traditional old mining town, old fashioned 'high street' with plenty of places to stay and eat. We stayed in the grand Carrington Hotel which has a lot of history as part of the evolution of the town. Our main reason for visiting was to easily access the Katoomba based hop-on/off bus to visit The Blue Mountains. This worked perfectly and as well as seeing Katoomba and the blue Mountains, we also got to visit the pretty neighbouring village of Leura which is included in the route. We felt we made a very good choice.

Katoomba has everything you will need or find in a regional town. The large supermarkets are available and open for longer hours for groceries (Aldi, Coles, Woolworths). The shops and restaurants close early, so check times and organise around that. There are limited number of restaurants and eateries in town. We ate at Rustico - this place is almost always full (even on weekdays) - best book ahead. We had one sunny day out of 3 days. Luckily that was enough to visit Scenic World, do the rides and walk around. We recommend taking the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus (hop-on hop-off) to minimise driving. There are many easy to medium walks along the clifftops.

The new Cliff Top walk to Wentworth Falls was excellent.
The new Cliff Top walk to Wentworth Falls was excellent. Just right level for me. It would be good if the shuttle buses went to Gordon Falls and Leura as I had to walk back along the roads a lot. Also access to the walk at Scenic World was closed, which was annoying as the walk is advertised to start there. It was Easter Sunday and very busy but this should have been made clear perhaps with signs at Katoomba Falls where the walk actually started from. I ate at 8 Things, great value and the RSL which was not so great. The Pool of Siloam is one of the best things in the mountains I discovered this weekend.

The town is lovely, great places to eat and drink, lots of attractions and view points, short drives to many other places. I really enjoyed it. One thing i would mention, as we were caught out with this, the whole town stops serving food at 8pm, so you do have to choose between watching the sunset and eating.
Beds were comfortable. Aldi Coles and Woolworths across the road. Easy access to major attractions. Staff were friendly . We did not expect to have 5 star hotel accommodation for that price, as long as the place is clean and the beds comfortable and the price is right we are happy .This hotel ticked all the boxes. and the staff were helpful and friendly . I recommend the breakfast its worth it. Thank you for making our stay memorable as we were stuck in NSW from Perth and decided to take a trip to the Blue mountains
Excellent Location, ease of access to the main town of Katoomba and ECHO POINT, the tree sisters viewing vista
You could not ask for a better location in regards to the main tourist attraction and experience in the Blue Mountains
The Showers were the Best and Tv had some Smart features included, all the 21st century touches you want. stayed with family, room Has a fridge Tea coffee and glasses for our champagne drink *(staying for a birthday celebration with family from overseas in Ireland
Lovely old world charm eminates from this hotel. Overstuffed armchairs, window seats, hushed hallways but still its bright and light and comfortable. Great artwork throughout.
Our room had everything we needed. Our bed was luxuriously comfy and the updated bathroom a surprise.
Our overnight stay included a great breakfast: Continental and Hot English, tea, coffee and juice.
The Katoomba RSL is literally just metres away with lovely meals and inexpensive drinks.
Enjoy!
Staying at this hotel is like being wrapped in a cozy blanket of luxury, with views that could make even the most seasoned traveler pinch themselves just to check if it's real. The scenery outside the window is so stunning, it's like Mother Nature hired a personal decorator. And let's talk about the rooms - they're so lovely, I half expected them to tuck me in at night and read me a bedtime story. It's like sleeping in a cloud made of marshmallows and dreams.
Great location in the centre of Katoomba, within walking distance of access to the falls walks.
Super friendly staff, very friendly vibe. People staying were mostly younger travellers, but a good smattering of families with children and grey-haired travellers such as us.
The large kitchen was well equipped and mostly clean, and the communal eating and chilling spaces were also welcome.
Car park round the back.
this cottage has a history. I liked the design and style.
continental breakfast was provided. As I arrived late, the reception was still open and welcomed very well. I stayed for a night and left in the morning. All facilities were provided. the hotel staff helped us to use the kitchen to have dinner for senior citizens. milk, biscuits, & sugar were provided. its a good value for money.
Comfortable and charming hotel in Katoomba. Great location near Echo Point. They kindly accommodated our request for ground floor rooms for my elderly parents and ourselves. Enjoyed the food and service at Lounge restaurant. Usually ample parking available for guests, both at open lots and underground garage (although both were full on Good Friday).
Carrington is still a WOW hotel. The rooms are large, clean and have old world charm. But rooms downstairs however are amazing. The Grand Dining Room is something to behold. There is the bar area, the ballroom, the billiards room and the library. All rooms are just sumptuous. If you like Old World Charm, this is the hotel for you.
The staff were beautiful, very friendly and helpful. There was a light breakfast of cereal, apples and toast. Though the room was old, it was clean and comfortable. The hotel was only a short 1.4km walk to Scenic World and 800m from Katoomba RSL for dinner. There is free onsite parking and a small pool table for guests to use.
Fantastic old style hotel on main street (katoomba st). A bit walk from station specially because there's a hill, but I did it easy because I am used to walk.
Near Bus to take to three sisters. And scenic world. About 30 min walk...
The staff is super kind. Top!
Great parking for those who bring car
Absolutely fantastic stay, Laura especially was fantastic with her warm reception and helpful advice and tips of where to go and local knowledge which was fantastic. She has to be a total credit to the hotel, we will definitely return thanks to her beautiful ways
Liked the old world charm of this hotel. The view from the bar and lounge areas is fantastic. It's super close to the centre of Katoomba so an easy walk to restaurants. The staff were really friendly and responsive when I had an issue.
The location is excellent and the hotel is charming. We have been to Katoomba many times over the years but never been in. Now that we have stayed there we will pop in for a drink or some scones next time we visit.
The room was very clean and comfortable for a budget hotel and it felt very safe. The staff are very friendly and nothing I asked was an issue. Also the BP station across the road does good coffee.
The location is fantastic, close to the lookouts and waterfalls. We loved the hotel's charm: the relaxing atmosphere and surroundings. The staff were efficient and professional in their assistance.
Very good location, only a short walk to Katoomba shops. The studio was very clean and presentable. The bed was comfortable. Heating was good, considering it was nearly winter.
Good location, I've stayed at a lot of hotels/motels in the area and this was the cleanest which was a tick in the right box. Now ive found this place I'll only stay here.
A unique hotel with a great history centrally located in Katoomba, a short walk from Katoomba Rail Station. A very convenient and comfortable place to stay
