Samira was a wonderful host, and I couldn't be more thrilled that I was able to stay at her property. In fact, I only booked for one night, but loved the location and property so much that I booked a second. To speak anthropomorphically, Dar Zaz is a home, not a hotel or a hostel. It is centrally located near the Blue Gate and sandwiched on a side street off of shops that offer more than just tourist paraphernalia (although that's there for you, if that's your thing), but also shops for toiletries, food, and other bric-a-brac necessities. You're also a very short walk from the Hammam Spa which was glorious. Dar Zaz was a respite after days of travelling through the country by car. Every artifact in the home is clearly selected carefully to not only provide comfort, but also a sense of Moroccan beauty. The property itself has modern amenities (finally, a washing machine), a rooftop terrace that is very private feeling, plenty of shower/bathroom space, comfortable beds, all the outlets worked, and it was impeccably clean. I made a fateful error of not being able to collect my keys at the time I originally requested, and Samira kindly stayed and waited for me with tea and pleasant conversation. Honestly it was my first real conversation in over a week of travel and I was so glad to have it. She is a wealth of knowledge about her city, and you should soak in as much as you can. There's nothing more to say other than enjoy your stay.

A good and quiet place to relax after long drives and sightseeing. A great pool. Plenty of space in the house. Clean. Fantastic breakfasts. The hosts who take care of the house are exceptionally kind.

The manager met us at the parking and helped with the luggage,the place is located in the middle of Medina so it was easy to walk around,the alley close to the house was dark but we felt safe.She explained everything The house has 3 floors and the design is stunning: nice beds,comfy living room,good showers and open rooftop.The breakfast was prepared by Fatima and it was really delicious!It was like a private "us only" Riad!

Everything is done with care and love and everywhere you look there is something to admire, from the architectural elements, to the beautiful Moroccan tiles, intricate carved doors, traditional furniture and lighting, blue ceramics and all the rest. The place has three double beds, wi-fi works great at all levels, water pressure is really good and Yassine took great care of us, from cooking breakfast, to taking us to and from the parking and every information we requested. The terrace is amazing and offers a beautiful view over the Medina. I also want to mention something very important: location. This riad is two steps away from one of the main streets in the Medina, which means you don't get lost in the "maze", it's really easy to access it. I love historical and authentic places, and I must say, this is the most amazingly authentic place I've ever stayed with my family. We enjoyed Fes, it was a really nice surprise.
