It was a really special place even with the rain, a delayed Ferry ride, and coming in the dark. I want to return and stay longer!

The hut is super nicely decorated, has everything you need and more, including some snacks provided as a nice touch. Easy to find with the owner’s directions, you feel like you are completely alone in the nature with a beautiful view, except for some cute sheep grazing around in the morning when you wake up! All units have outdoor seating areas with barbecue. Pets are welcome at Melfort Village for a small charge. Some units have open fires or wood burners. this place is great. You're tucked away in the hills and valleys below Oban. You're really in nature - with lots of paths to walk, easy to go to Easdale (a local recommendation) and overall a cozy stay. Olwan is a gem - she drew lovely maps for us, with recommendations of places and things for us to do. Go to the Kilmaford Bar on Tuesday nights for Live local music. IT was the highlight of our WHOLE trip.

Around 13 miles from Oban, the luxurious Bonawe House Holiday Cottages offers apartment and cottage accomodation in the Scottish Highlands. On the edge of the village of Taynuilt, between Loch Etive and Ben Cruachan, this property has free Wi-Fi and parking. This accommodation was spectacularly beautiful and well priced. The rooms in the suite upstairs were beautifully decorated with gorgeous furnishings, including an actual Narnia wardrobe!! However for me, the views from every window were hands down the most outstanding part, they were simply breathtaking to say the least!!! The grounds were also incredible which included access to walking trail and a picturesque playground with rope swings and balancing rope; it felt like a woodland circus course. In our 3 weeks of UK holiday this was without doubt my favorite place to stay!!! I will definitely return on my next trip and stay for longer than 2 days.
