We had contacted the host about check-in time, but the weather of the days before was unexpected and we have to re-arrange the schedule of check-in several times, but the host was very understanding and very welcoming from the moment we arrived. The place is an renovated Japanese tradition house which has beautiful structure and modern functions with tatami mats and heating floor system. The futon was so comfortable to sleep on. Everything was very clean and well prepare. The garden was also very big and well-cared. And one of the best thing is the location of the house. It's located in the very center where you can literally walk to any spot from Kenroku-en to shopping streets. The parking is right next to the house which makes it very convenient for people who travel by car. This is the place for you in Kanazawa! We would love to be here again. The host (Hitty) was there in person to welcome us and to provide info on the house and on Kanazawa. He has been extremely kind and available, and we felt as we were guests in a friend's home. The house is wonderful and full of history having been the house of a samurai (as Hitty explained us) but is also well equipped, well kept and clean. Highly recommended, for sure the best and the most welcoming host I have met in several years.

During our stay with a group of four adults, we loved the size of the apartment. The bedrooms were spacious and the batchroom & kitchen were well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the delicious coffee and the backery that is just next door. The location of the apartment was ideal, close to popular sightseeing spots and nearby bus stations. The check-in process was hassle-free and the host extremely friendly. Overall, our stay was fantastic and we highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable stay.

An entire traditional townhouse is next to a Ryokan one of the things I think someone should have lived in on a Japan visit. It is close to the samurai district which has many beautiful old buildings and reasonably close to Kanazawa‘s fish market. If you have the rare opportunity to have a full kitchen on vacation you should take advantage of that. A lot of these houses disappear every year because they are very expensive to maintain and repair so I ask everyone to please give machias like Kaga House your business. I recommend staying longer than one night. Just sleeping there wastes the potential of the house.
