The location of this property is 40 minutes from Magome where we wanted to do the Magome to Tsumago walk. We chanced it in a random regional town and it’s been our most favourite house on our two week trip! The host was super friendly and helpful. The house is a genuine old (but amazing) Japanese house. It was also stocked with food and drinks and local rice to purchase. Would rate this 12/10 if we could!! We’ll be back for sure. Make sure you try the restaurant 50 metre walk down the road, Restaurant 88.

The hotel is an authentic Japanese house with two stories, a kitchen, and full amenities. It can comfortably accommodate up to ten people. The property is right in the old nakasendo road so very convenient if you’re keen to do some day hiking between post towns. The accommodations are beautiful and comfortable and the host Tommy is super helpful. The kitchen is well set up if you want to self cater. They also offer cultural craft experiences and food options which sounded great but as we were travelling with children we did not do those.

The property was very homely with lots of lovely attention to detail. The furnishings were high quality. There were also lovely details such as fresh flowers, snacks, mementos and brochures. The location was very peaceful with a beautiful garden - the owner even made us a love heart of autumn flowers on the lawn. We felt very cared for. The children were even given a gift on departure - Thank you!

Very spaceous and clean accomodation. Easy to park the car just outside. Good communication with host. Very understanding with our child being ill that had an accident at night. Would highly recommend.

The hosts are very kind people who do their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Since it is a rural area and there are no supermarkets close by the owner was kind enough to drive us to a nearby city to pick up our dinner. The house itself is absolutely beautiful and a great place to stay with small groups. We also received several drinks and snacks for free. For us this was the perfect way to end a day walking the nakasendo trail. I cannot give any higher recommendations!
