The cottage was so lovely and warm and very modern. It had everything u needed . The host was very attentive and left us milk and cookies for us when we. Arrived. Can't fault him or the cottage. Brilliant wee country pub across the road,food was to dye for was the best pub food I've had been told it's a new chef . Would love to go back to the cottage and the friendly staff at the pub . A very happy weekend we had . It was a early Xmas present for my girlfriend we enjoyed it very much .

I had such a great stay at this home during my visit to Durham, honestly, it was even better than I expected. The area is super quiet and peaceful, which made it feel more like a relaxing getaway than just a place to sleep. The cleanliness was amazing, everything was spotless and felt really fresh. The house had everything I needed: fully equipped kitchen, comfy bed, cozy furniture, you name it. The neighborhood felt very safe and calm, which I really appreciated. The host (who’s also the owner) was incredibly friendly and kind. He made us feel more like friends than guests, and was always easy to reach and quick to help with anything we needed. The house itself had a very homey feel. You don’t feel like you’re in a rental, you feel like you belong there. Little touches like books, soft lighting, and nice scents made it feel extra thoughtful and welcoming. Yes, it’s about a 20 minute walk to the city center, but honestly, the quiet surroundings totally make up for it. The photos online are accurate, but the place is even better in real life. Check-in and check-out were super easy and smooth. No doubt about it, this will be my go-to place whenever I come back to Durham.

Beautiful home with all the facilities you could possibly need. Lovely enclosed garden. Excellent for children and dogs (even had a wendy house/den and child's picnic table). Central location with easy access to Wharton Park and the city centre. Clean and comfortable with cosy additional soft furnishings. Childrens' cutlery and plastic dishes were appreciated.

    Welcome pack was very thoughtful, and made our breakfasts & stay much simpler. Well equipped rooms, great bedding, lovely aspect and excellent location - perched in a hamlet high in the hills overlooking Durham Cathedral, close to a village pub serving good food, but a quick and easy drive in to town.
