I could just spend hours sitting on the sand, taking in the ocean's beauty and sounds, and the amazing views of the surrouding mountains and coast - not mentioning the exceptionally cleary night skies. The property is made so that you directly live with the ocean, both from the room and the dining/living area, including a cute seashell and flower decoration in the rooms. Very calm except for the waves (lovely lulaby) and the ocean breeze makes it nicely refreshing (compared to elsewhere), and it is easy to be in your own private space outside. The location on the island is nicely clsoe (8 km) to the main town with shops, restaurants, gas stations, banks, harbor, aiport, etc. while still convenient to explore the south side of Huahine. The owner Flora is feisty and incredibly sweet and generous, ans she is a star when it comes to caring for her guests, doing what she can to help and make their stay special. Scooter or car rental across the street. Overall my 5-night stay there were very resourceful and I was pleasantly surprised.

Facing the beachfront, Maitai Lapita Village Huahine offers 3-star accommodation in Fare and features an outdoor swimming pool, garden and private beach area. Guests can enjoy French and local dishes at the restaurant or have a cocktail at the bar. My stay at Maitai Lapita was an absolute highlight of my French Polynesia trip. The hotel and bungalows are beautiful and have a very authentic feeling to them. The little beach and restaurant have the best views of sunset over Raiatea and breakfast was great. What made is most amazing was the extremely hospitable staff, especially Vaea, who was extremely helpful and organized very special activities for me. Her kindness and warmth will stay in my memory and I would love to come back one day :)

Facing the beachfront, Hotel Le Mahana offers 3-star accommodation in Parea and features a garden, private beach area and terrace. There is a restaurant serving Chinese cuisine, and free private parking is available. It is on the nicest beach on the island with great snorkeling and still rather remote so not a lot of people. I recommend the beach front cabin but all are nice and right on the beach basically. The rooms super comfy and a/c good. You can make your shower open air if you like and all rooms have a little deck. So much nature and good snorkeling right in your back yard.
