Large area with a great outdoors space. Definitely a great place to stay if you are visiting the bay of islands, which was one of my favorite places in New Zealand. We had one room with a lot of area, and another with very little area, so that was interesting.

Murray and Jan were extremely attentive and helpful in every way - we felt we were staying with friends.

Kingsgate Hotel Paihia offers a memorable waterfront location, just 100 metres from Paihia wharf. The hotel offers views across the Bays brilliant blue sea and out to Russell. Location / view was a highlight!

This is the PERFECT location and it has convenient parking. The host is magnificent. He was always available to chat and give recommendations. I so enjoyed staying here. It wasn't just a good place to stay it was part of my holiday. I really can't recommend this motel enough. If you are after a clean, conveniently located motel this is the place to be. There are other motels in the Bay of Islands that I saw as a I drove around but I don't know why you wouldn't want to be located directly in front of the beach with all the convenience that brings. This was a great find.

I loved the balcony, overlooking the water and the hillside, it is a great place for morning coffee and an evening beverage. There is parking on site included with the room.
