Excellent location, only 5-10 minute walk from most main attractions. We were visiting around Christmas and the hotel's garden was part of the "Magical Courtyards" and beautifully decorated. There was also free filtered drinking water on every floor and free coffee at all times.

The restaurant Alexander serves Swiss specialties and offers different Pizza varieties and delivery service in the hotel. Staff was friendly, room was clean, breakfast was fine :)

The room was big, tidy and included a kitchenette ( the kettle, combined with the tea bags from reception kept us warm). Also there are other appliances in the lobby that you could borrow. The buffet breakfast was quite diverse (having the option to make fresh orange juice was appreciated).

The Central City Hotel Rochat is housed in a historic, listed building in the old town of Basel. The accommodation enjoys a central and very quiet location close to the university and the cantonal hospital. The hotel has a small garden and free WLAN. Ticked all the boxes - great room - great location - staff were very helpful.
