What a wonderful find, this charming family run hotel sits lazily on the kwai river, the grounds are rustic with walking paths down to the river, where there are tables and chairs, even a hammock, where you can watch the boats go down the river. The peace and tranquillity is a wonderful break from the town and the noise. The room is very spacious equipped with fridge and kettle, AC, and a little balcony. Bed and pillows very comfortable. The staff are so lovely, with the owner who even cooks the breakfast with her staff. Breakfast is plentiful, changing daily for the 4 days we stayed. The pool is in the next facility, which was lovely to soak in especially to be right on the river. It is approx. 1 km to main town, but an very easy walk just over the bridge. We hired a motorbike for a couple of days mainly to get to Hellfire pass. The cost is around 300 per day. A tuk tuk from bus station should cost around 100 bt. Favourite places to visit was the Death Railway museum and the war cemetery, and of course Hell Fire pass, all reminders of what people endured. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful Kean Kan.

Perfect location at the riverside. Very pretty accomodation. Very good and nice restaurant at the riverside with excellent breakfast and delicious food. Good location within walking distance to main street with bars and restaurants. Incredible friendly and helpful staff, they do anything to make your stay comfortable. Attached travel agendy for day trips ane transport on reasonable prices. Thank you for everything, I will come back!

Absolutely everything was perfect, the accommodation was spotless, ideally located, and even included free bicycles. But what truly made the difference at City Yaowarat was the service. Our host went above and beyond: she picked us up from the train station after a long journey, drove us to the bus stop the next morning for our trip to Erawan Falls, and even brought our luggage to us afterward so we could head straight to the bus to Bangkok without having to return to the hotel. Truly exceptional hospitality, we honestly couldn’t have hoped for a better place.

The room was small, but very cozy and clean. The beds were super soft, and there were two different pillows with different heights, which was amazing. The bathroom is tiny, but very clean. The lady working in reception is super nice, she offered us water as soon as we walked in. Free water bottles are available all the time in a fridge on the hallway, which was very convenient. The breakfast is small, some toast and jam, but it was enough for us. The location is not the best, it is on the main road, which gets very empty in the evenings, so you have to walk to get to restaurants, but we didn't mind that at all. Overall a great place for a short stay!
