The room was clean and spaced. It was nice we could do laundry and use the kitchen for coffee and light meals. The location wasn't so good, we drove every day to Takayama (~40 min) since there is not much to do in this area.

Our stay at Soy was amazing! Tai and his parents made us immediately feel at home. They are so nice and warm. The house is realy impressive. We loved our time at Auberge Hidanomori. The decor is beautiful and in a lovely location in the outskirts of Takayama. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who gave us recommendations for some local walks and provided a free shuttle to/from town. We would definitely recommend booking in for dinner - the food was incredible and the best that we had during our trip to Japan. We hope that we will be back again some day - thank you!

Excellent staff, they could not have been more helpful or friendly. Dinner was excellent, a wide variety of Hida beef dishes. The rooms are a good size and the futons are comfortable for a good night's sleep. The location is great, a few minutes from the train and just over the bridge from the main tourist attractions.
