There is only one restaurant which I expected to be mediocre because of the lack of competition. Oh how wrong I was. All the food was gourmet and of exceptional quality, price wise it wasn’t cheap, but it was great value for what you get.

Our room faced the stunning garden and swimming pool and had a designated cabana AND another private sitting area just outside the room! From our cabana, we enjoyed watching wildlife that included beautiful birds, tiny geckos and other native species. We also enjoyed an amazing on-site couples-massage. I can't say enough about the staff who were extremely courteous, attentive and helpful! We enjoyed an amazing breakfast each morning, which was included -- fresh fruit and a choice of several entrees as well as vegetarian options. This hotel is definitely one of the loveliest in Puerto Viejo, away from the noise of the downtown area.
