We loved our stay! This is a perfect place to relax. The hotel is built on a hill and can only be reached by a funicular railway or a long staircase. Due to its elevated location, you truly feel part of the jungle, with a stunning view to match. The highlight of our visit was definitely the monkeys – but a word of caution: if you're not a fan of monkeys, this might not be the place for you, as they can be quite intrusive. They even stole my sunscreen and almost broke into our room, as they are able to open the door (always lock the door!). The bar and staff were outstanding – very dedicated and friendly. We loved relaxing at the pool on top of the hotel.

Owners Indu and Khomudu were wonderful hosts. The room was spotless, featuring a renovated bathroom with hot water. Breakfast was authentically Sri Lankan and delicious, offering sweet options and fresh fruit, along with coffee and tea. We truly appreciated all the time we spent at their homestay. Thusara guest house is above all a beautiful place, at the end of a small corner of paradise. The room I occupied is a typical beach vacation room. There is space, it feels good! The bathroom, very large, hot water at will, inside the room, good bedding, silent air conditioning, on top, fan. And icing on the cake, a wifi, fast! :.) Here, it is above all a place where you like to come back and find a friend, with whom to share your day or more intimately, your life. Thusara, smiling, happy, jovial, always ready to help and advise the best corners. It is a pleasure to have met his wife, his children. The room is located 1 mn from the beach... a short way down... nearby, restaurants, bars... far enough away not to be disturbed at night. At your disposal, a small kitchen, fridge, electric kettle... the breakfasts are extra!! For experienced surfers, Mirissa beach and not far, Matara.. for beginners, 5 minutes by scooter, Weligama beach (turning point school was great). The top of the top... and even Muy Thai lessons nearby (ask at the restaurant on the beach run by a Frenchman). I advise, of course, Go for it!

Dylan and Company, as we would like to call them were an integral part of our beautiful stay at Mirissa. We booked a Deluxe Room which could be easily mistaken for a suite. The property does give you the option to pay in USD/INR/LKR. We booked breakfast with our room where Sri Lankan and Western options were provided. We chose the latter that consisted of ample slices of Toasted white bread, two Masala Omelets, a piece of Sausage and a slice of Bacon with fresh fruits, giant pots of Coffee and Tea, and two beautifully cooked Pancakes on our last day. Snorkeling and Beach Beds were provided for free with extra beach towels if needed and short yet delightful conversations alongside whenever our paths met. The beach is located literally 10m from the property and is mostly secluded although we visited it in July so the crowd could be subjective. At night when you run out of options or places, make a hot pot of beverage and sit on the comfortable chairs in your private balcony with the sea gaping right at you.

The couple that owns the accommodation is really sweet and helpfull. When my wife had a medical emergency they drove us to the hospital. The rooms are cleaned every day. Location was good. Close to some restaurants and less then 10 minutes to the beach.

I had an amazing time at Spice House , Ruwan is the nicest man ever ,so friendly and helpfull . I booked the Junior suite The room was just perfect , I really enjoyed the outside shower with all sorts of birds and monkeys around. If you love nature its incredible ! The beach is just accross the road , perfect location. The owners are really nice people as well as all the staff there ! I will definetely come back !

    It was a pleasure staying here. Vish and Prasana made our stay very comfortable! We were celebrating our honeymoon and they made a romantic setting in the room for us which was a nice touch. Breakfast was great every day with different options and they were flexible with the time. The rooms were very clean and spacious. It's a short walk through the villa grounds to the private beach which ls great to relax with your partner or family, also a short drive to the more busy beaches so it was perfect to have option of both.

    What we loved - great staff who went out of their way to accommodate us for various requests - perfect location, easily walkable between Secret Beach, Mirissa Beach and restaurants in town - nice, clean and comfortable rooms - in-house spa, providing good massages for decent prices - generous breakfast with a mix of western and local foods
