The house was comfortable. Located among private houses, the location was serene and a real retreat for a break.5 minutes by car to Tsugaike Kogen ski resort made it abreeze to drop off skiers and pick them up when done! The heating was perfect and never too drying and the washing machine and dryer was marvellous. The kitchen was fully equipped and we actually made dinner in the house as going out at night in the snow didnt sound appealing! Mr Kudo lives next door and always available if needed. he even ofered to drive us around.

My favourite stay of my whole trip. The staff were so helpful. Location was amazing walking distance to everything in town. Clothes washing facilities, onsen, perfection.

Beautiful accommodation with excellent facilities. Plenty of space and very comfortable for bigger groups or families. Concierge team started a whatsapp chat group a day prior to check in and were responsive throughout our stay with any questions we had.

We love the facilities, especially the table soccer which my 2 kids enjoy a lot.. breakfast was very tasty, very clean good size family room. There are oven and microwave which was very good when you need to pack food from the Family mart. Amazing staff.. Best in all of my japan trip. I stay in 5-6 hotel/resort.. this is my kids favourite. Very comfortable..The shared washing and dryer machines are very helpful as well. Once again, amazing staff. 10/10 because of the staff there.

The lodge owner is an expert host, and creates a very friendly atmosphere for his guests. His staff make an excellent evening meal, and great conversation can be found at the dining table. This is good location from which to explore the Hakuba valley and many ski areas.

I was initially skeptical about staying at Tsugaike seeing how the "main" resorts Happo-one and Hakuba 47 are quite a distance away. However, Hai Lodge was everything that previous reviewers had said. Tsugaike is a wonderful resort with many different terrains that would satisfy most people. The place was very well-maintained and clean. Josh and Victoria were wonderful hosts. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Hai Lodge and will definitely stay again next time!
