The hosts were also very attentive and friendly. I had a great time speaking to them in Japanese, but they seem to manage really well with people don't speak Japanese. The best thing for sure was that they totally saved me twice! I didn't realize how rural this place was when I booked it. On the map, it looked more accessible on foot and it was only when I was heading to Aso that I would be in trouble because of my luggage. The host offered to pick me up from Akamizu and the even to take me back to get dinner/use the onsen. Later, they also offered to drive me to Tateno station for my departure train. This saved me so much stress. I couldn't walked with my luggage, but it would have been miserable. Overall, I had a really wonderful time staying here. Felt very peaceful and I was able to relax, especially after my long hike on Mt. Aso.

This is just one train stop from Aso station, so provides easy access to Mt. Aso and the surrounding area. The kitchen is fully equipped (cutlery, pans, condiments, etc) and there is a small grocery store nearby to buy ingredients. Rooms are large, and there is a kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a japanese - style bathroom. The piano in the living room was a great and unexpected bonus. We were passing through and only stayed one night, but it would have been a great base to explore the Aso area and we would have loved to stay for longer.

We have 5 travellers and the house is spacious enough for us. House is clean, neat and homely. The tatami and futon beds are very comfortable to sleep on( just like the lovely logo outside the house). Owner is very thoughtful as to prepare all the necessity items for his tenant. Thanks to owner. Although there is no washer but coin laundry is just within walking distance and opposite the laundry has several supermarket which can get our grocery while waiting for the laundry to be done Walking distance from the house to station as well. Very strategic location for free and easy travellers.

This holiday home is non-smoking and soundproof. good experience living in local house. simple but fully equipment. breakfast is delicious and with smile serving ;). very cheap too. the location is not easy to find on map until the property owner sent the gps location and it was exactly the house located.
