My room was good for my needs, it was quiet, and the waterfall and rivers outside was a great source of white noise. Highly recommend for a peaceful stay!

The property is located 39 km from Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei, 8.8 km from Mount Aso and 29 km from KK Wings. The ryokan features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Outstanding food both for breakfast and dinner - some of the best we had while in Japan with many local specialties. The private onsen were comfortable and very nice. Location is great if you're in a car and it's easy to explore the nearby Aso-Kuju National Park from there.

The private onsen room is great! Clean and spacious, cozy bed and all. It was lovely how the dogs were welcome too, and they were thought of. The dog run was great! The staff was super friendly. We loved it here!

Free shuttle is available to/from Ogunimachi Yu Station and bus stop Kurokawa. 10/10 everything was amazing! The place the food the staff and the baths! They even tried to accommodate our needs, as muslims, as much as possible ❤️ would recommend, would go again 👍 Thank you very much.

A variety of Japanese shochu liquor, wines and other drinks can be enjoyed at bar Kura. Excellent service, good quality of food and service, highly recommend to stay and expereince it.

Guests with a dinner-inclusive rate are served a Japanese kaiseki multi-course meal. The main menu consists of a grilled beef on a lave plate. A lovely hotel with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. We had a fabulous stay. The meals were ALL exceptional! It's a beautiful setting and perfectly located for hiking around Mt Aso.

Situated in the centre of the Kurokawa Onsen Area and boasting a total of 8 indoor/outdoor hot spring baths, Nanjoen offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and futon bedding. THis was my first stay in a Ryokan and it did not disappoint. THe whole experience was magical - the room, the view over the hills, forest and town, the baths. The meals were excellent - two different breakfasts and and we took to the opportunity to have the Kaiseki dinners - an amazing assortment of tastes and textures. Kurokawa is a magical town that is wonderful to walk aroundand we took the opportunity to get an Onsen passport to try a few of the other baths. THe parking is easy. THe staff were excellent and patiently helped us understand the way to to enjoy a Ryokan

Free Wi-Fi is available at the public area. Everything! From the moment we parked our car till leaving the village, everything was at 7 out of 5 stars level! The attention and help of staff, the baths, the meals - everything! Loved our stay!
