This was the highlight of our journey around Japan. It is a beautiful, friendly and welcoming place in the countryside. The staff and owner are lovely and made us feel very welcome and at ease from the beginning. The quality of the food is excellent. The room was also comfortable and spacious with access to the beautiful onsen. We came here with our two children and found plenty to do nearby. You will need to use a combination of taxis and trains, but there is plenty in the local area.

Very authentic; personal onsen; super friendly staff; the dinners were great and they even accommodated my special dietary restrictions. The location is good, you could easily walk for just a few minutes to the port but the manager personally picks you up/drives you whenever you wish.

This was worth every euro, really an amazing experience. Traditional stay, traditional Kaiseki dinner and breakfast, perfect serene onsen and perfect service. After 1 night I was very relaxed. Location is great, close to the lake and the shrine which is amazing to see! Would definitely come back again!

Dinner was very good with lots of choices. Everyone was dressed on traditional Japanese robes that he hotel provided, I didn't expect people to wear to dinner and breakfast. Onsen was very good and clean and provided lots of amenities. Loved the views, absolutely gorgeous

How relaxing it was. The rooms were beautiful and a great size. The personal outdoor baths were a huge bonus compared to other places. All the staff were very friendly and tried their best to speak English to us. The garden was out up and very nice. Violinist and piano player we're playing in common areas.

Totally worth it. Our experience in hakone wouldnt have been the same if we wouldnt have stayed in the hotel. Totally recommeded to get the dinner as there’re not much restaurants near by

The hotel is simply amazing. The architecture is phenomenal, we stayed at the Forest Wing and it is completely beautiful and comfortable. The personnel service is also great, as well as the spa and restaurants.
