Breakfast and dinner buffet really ritch and tasty, some western options as well for people with no preferance to Asian cuisine. Staff polite and helpful. Onsen area was really nice. Very nice, very clean, new and very well furnished. Spaceous room. You have yukatas which can be weared everywhere in the hotel (even at dinner!), a pair of Japanese socks and a cute tea set in the rooms. Comfortable fouton beds and pillows. Dinner is a special Japanese experience - do not miss it!!! Very tasty and with an exceptional attentive service! Breakfast is also good in the same stile (although not as good as dinner;-)). Public onsens are seperate: 1 for men and 1 for women. Both look the same and have one inside and one outside baths. There are 2 small "family" onsens also with small inside baths only; and 3 very small private onsens which can be booked. Overall it is a very nice SPA hotel and it was a pleasure to stay there!

Such a wonderful experience. The private onsen on our balcony and breakfast were highlights. We are travelling with our 11-month-old and they were so considerate! Provided a diaper bin and a high chair (!!) and utensils for the baby. Excellent place to start our honeymoon.

Amazing hotel giving you a classic ryokan experience with a modern twist. Our room was spacious with stunning views. The indoor onsen was beautiful, looking out into the forest and the open-air onsen was serene and private, with a bank of wild lilies that made it smell wonderful. Staff were incredibly sweet and helpful. We especially enjoyed sitting in the shared lounge, choosing which of their wide selection of vinyls to listen to.

This was close to the end of our two and half week Japan trip, and we had already been to many hotels and accommodations: If you are looking for ascetic Japanese inn, this is for you. You won't get much for basic fare, which for our trip was twice or thrice the normal price for a night, but if you are happy with a public bath, yukata and tatami mat with a futon on it, you are in for good times (we weren't).

It’s a little tired but authentic. Love the experience of traditional Ryokan. It’s so special when the staffs come and prepare a spread of dinner table in your tatami room and then after the dinner they turn the room into a bed room by bringing out Futon. The quality of Onsen water is fantastic. The staffs are very friendly and welcoming.

For us it was the perfect stay in a Japanese ryokan - spacious room with tatami and a low table and comfortable floor-low chairs, very comfortable (and large) futons, house yukata and jacket, relaxing onsen bath every evening … and an overwhelming variety of delicious food for dinner and breakfast, some of which was cooked on little stoves on the table. For us it was the perfect choice for a very clean ryokan with very friendly and attentive staff.

Staying in a traditional ryokan was a treat. We really enjoyed the rooms, with tatami mats and windows overlooking beautiful greenery. The futons were really comfortable and our room had its own onsen, which was fabulous. The evening meals were extraordinary. Beautifully presented, with numerous delicious dishes. If anything there was too much food. The breakfast too was very lavish.

It was our first time staying at a Ryokan and it exceeded our expectations the room was traditional japanese room with tatami and at the upper level we had our futons. The onsen bath was refreshing and calming. The food was so delicous and well portioned and locally sourced. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer.

The staff has been very welcoming and attended to all our needs. The private onsen is worth a visit and the privacy was much appreciated. Futons were some of the best ones we've experienced on our trip. Room size was more than adequate and the interior (tatamis, bathroom, seating arrangement) on point. The provided Yukatas were decent. The hotel's location is a good base to explore Mt Fuji, the botanical gardens (pref. late spring), local hikes and the temple close by (look for the buddha statues).

Staff were polite and helpful, are English competent. Loved the traditional dinner and breakfast and the experience of wearing yukatas everywhere, traditional Japanese public bathing facilities, the outdoor onsen after dinner where you can gaze up at the stars before falling asleep on futons in a tatami room. We had fantastic view of the mountains from our window. Quiet location.
