The Golden Crown Hotel is a 5-star hotel located in Ampitya, Kandy, Srilanka. One of the best hotels I have stayed in in Sri Lanka. It was very enjoyable and had all the facilities a family needs. The staff were very nice and helpful, especially the employee Mihirini. She was more than willing to help us. Thank you all.

We appreciated that it was a short and easy ride into the center of the bustling city and attractions, but the neighborhood itself felt incredibly quiet and serene. After a long and warm drive in, we were greeted with damp towels and fresh tea and ginger cookies to refresh ourselves. We frequently enjoyed the beautiful balconies and the view they offered over Kandy, especially at sunrise. The breakfast was FANTASTIC! They even accommodated us one morning when we left very early by providing some fruit and food to take with us. The service was top notch - friendly, accommodating and warm. Everything was clean and we were very comfortable in a charming, quiet room.

The pool was very big and the water was actually cool! Very refreshing! My kids loved it! The owner is very nice and even went to go pick us up some dinner after our night swim:) Fans and air-conditioning in the room! The location is about a 15-20 min drive outside of the Kandy city centre, but we thought it was well worth it!

I had a fantastic stay at this lovely house in the hills just outside Kandy. The location is quiet and surrounded by nature, with stunning views over a forest valley — the perfect place to relax after exploring the city. The house itself is modern, beautifully renovated, and very comfortable. But what really stood out was the warmth of the couple who own it. From the first moment, they made me feel truly at home — more like a guest in their home than a customer. In the morning they prepared a delicious homemade Sri Lankan breakfast. One of the highlights was the coconut rotti — absolutely incredible — along with fresh fruit and other traditional dishes. You could really taste the care they put into everything. They also went out of their way to help me when the airline delayed my baggage. They followed up and made sure it arrived safely at the house, which I really appreciated. If you’re visiting Kandy and looking for a quiet, authentic place with genuine hospitality, I can’t recommend this stay enough.
