The Golden Crown Hotel was by far the best hotel I stayed at during my entire trip through Sri Lanka including Colombo, the north, and other regions. The service, friendliness, and atmosphere were absolutely exceptional. Everything felt perfectly balanced professional yet genuinely warm. A few people made the experience truly unforgettable. Dananjaya was always helpful, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. He really made my stay more enjoyable with his positive energy. Mlhirini had such a kind and welcoming presence. She constantly made sure I had everything I needed and was always up for a nice conversation. So caring and attentive. Roshan, the manager, is a truly kind person. Under his leadership, the service was simply outstanding. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. If you’re looking for real hospitality and excellent service, this is the place. I’ll definitely come back!

Beauty Hills is a recently renovated homestay in the centre of Kandy, 1.6 km from Kandy Museum and 1.7 km from Sri Dalada Maligawa. The property has mountain and river views, and is 4.4 km from Bogambara Stadium. The homestay features family rooms. Nice view from a big balcony. Host was very friendly.

Really nice place - very comfortable rooms, great view, rustic architecture. Staff is extremely helpful, makes you breakfast according to your wishes, helps you with organising day trips, transfer to next location, train tickets, … Another plus is a location - not just because of a splendid view from the terrace, you are also far enough from busy and noisy center of Kandy city and yet just 5 minutes Tuk Tuk drive from the lake, the train station or the Tooth relic temple. We would specifically recommend our Tuk Tuk driver Sampath Rathnasiri (+94 76 996 4417) who works in the hotel and also as a Tuk Tuk driver. With very reasonable prices, he is completely flexible to organise your short or full day trips around Kandy with him. Very polite, helpful and kind guy - recommended also if you decide to stay in some other place.

I had a fantastic stay at this lovely house in the hills just outside Kandy. The location is quiet and surrounded by nature, with stunning views over a forest valley — the perfect place to relax after exploring the city. The house itself is modern, beautifully renovated, and very comfortable. But what really stood out was the warmth of the couple who own it. From the first moment, they made me feel truly at home — more like a guest in their home than a customer. In the morning they prepared a delicious homemade Sri Lankan breakfast. One of the highlights was the coconut rotti — absolutely incredible — along with fresh fruit and other traditional dishes. You could really taste the care they put into everything. They also went out of their way to help me when the airline delayed my baggage. They followed up and made sure it arrived safely at the house, which I really appreciated. If you’re visiting Kandy and looking for a quiet, authentic place with genuine hospitality, I can’t recommend this stay enough.

Free WiFi is offered throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in. It’s located on top of a hill which gives you an amazing view and the architecture of this hotel makes it even more awesome. I was too lazy to attend the morning yoga and meditation but if I had more time, I would definitely go. Breakfast was nice, too. Super healthy with mostly tropical fruits, egg, butter, and jelly. Krishan and Michael, were super duper helpful and nice.
