Stunning location by the side of the lake...morning sun flooded the room. Superb breakfast with a huge selection of food available. Great large room with wall to ceiling windows.

It had parking for free. Breakfast was plenty. Had a pancake maker, and for those so inclined, offered Whiskey for breakfast. We used the take-away cups for an additional coffee to go.

Breakfast and the dinners were amazing. The manager was awesome. She checked us in and got us a bigger room.

The Shearwater Hotel is just 20 minutes' drive from Athlone and a 50-minute car journey from Galway. It is close to the marina and the River Suck.

Situated in fabulous countryside surroundings, very beautiful and peaceful. Warmly welcomed with a very professional attitude wile having a lovely family feeling on arrival. Grounds and house front are very well kept and clean. Again, a warm and welcome homly feel on entry to property. Accommodation was immaculately clean throughout, comfortable and warm with all facilities available to you being all you could ask for and more than enough. Fantastic grounds and surrounding area to walk and take in surrounding area. Wifi and plenty of parking space. Excellent value for money and an enjoyable stay.

The location, friendliness of owner, quietness of the location, and the breakfast were all exceptional and better than I had expected.
