It's as good as everyone says it is. Don't let the white walls in the photos fool you into thinking it's drab. We loved our stay at Cathedral Lodge. Exceptional location, right on the grounds of the famous Canterbury Cathedral, with parking right outside the lodge (must be reserved). Great breakfast with lots of choice, just perfect. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, all well thought out. We had a fantastic view of the cathedral. Entry to the cathedral is free for guests of the lodge. The location is a perfect base for exploring Canterbury.

Dating back to 1438, the historic Cathedral Gate is in the heart of Canterbury.

Staff were all friendly - from the reception to the breakfast support. They seemed happy to be there, which makes all the difference. Breakfast was by far the best we had while travelling around the UK (I must say we usually have continental breakfast, so the options available made all the difference here). Location is also very convenient.
