It was spacious and comfortable. The 2,3 room were on a separate floor and with a separate entrance so the boys were a bit scared. The pro is its good for big groups of friends and family- value for money. The down side is that it got very quiet from Mon-Thu. Staff (lifeguards) got a bit lazy and wouldnt open the parasoles by the pool . I had to ask repeatedly as my boys play in the pool while I read under the parasols. Also no direct access to the beach- there’s boulders . Only Maison restaurant was opened- 3 are advertised. After bk-lunch-dinner at the same place we’re ready to explore other options. Taxi was about 250 return to nearby restaurants (3-5km away). Amazing seafood ! Positive is that with a car, you may explore more, and get snacks. We had a beachfront villa, with the best views over a mile of pristine white beach out to sea. Awesome! The service from the staff was exceptional – friendly, helpful and all very good fun. A big thank you to Nhan, our personal butler for looking after us so well! The island resort was just full of surprises, including our being so lucky to have nests hatching and baby turtles being released to the sea on two evenings during our stay. We also thoroughly enjoyed hitting some ‘eco’ golf balls out to sea … to feed the fish! Such great fun, again with the very helpful staff. Friendly staff, great cocktails & a huge pool with plenty of deck chairs including on the beach. It’s very authentic with most guests from Vietnam so limited English speaking staff other than reception & Western style choices for breakfast but still plenty to choose from the buffet. After seeing the view, we immediately upgraded to an ocean view room, definitely worth the extra small cost. The price of food are quite expensive compare to other sightseeing places in Vietnam. You should ask before select dishes. However, you can taste food in night market, fresh and cheaper compare to restaurant. Beside go to the beaches, you can visit Con Dao National Park for trekking. There are many hotels and restaurants at Ho Tram intersection. The road is quite convenient, the average speed of 60km will be safe if you do not want to be caught speeding. Great location. 7 km to a beautiful pristine beach, 2 km to the 2nd largest natiinal forest reserve, 12 km to Mineral Hot Spring, 9km to HO Tram and a little further to Vung Tau. But still wondering why people flock to Vung Tau! Spend lots of time at the Ho Coc Beach and enjoy the seafood right there. It is an industrial port town not suitable for tourism.
It is an industrial port town not suitable for tourism. Levels of pollution are very high due to the main highway passing through the centre. The highway is also extremely dangerous with numerous accidents involving large trucks and motorbikes. Didn’t get to see much of what I would have liked. Accommodation was a little out-of-town so couldn’t wander through the main areas at will. Heaps of good restaurants & bars in town. Nice cafes throughout. Lots of redevelopment going on around back beach so it’s not great to look at presently.. We spent 4 days in Con Dao, which was great .Each day we went off ( motorcycle) and looked at the “ things to see” . The prison complexes take a good half a day to look at , as there are about 7 sections,in total .We often spent half a day out n about , each day . 4-5 days on Con Dao is enough time to enjoy walking trails in the rainforest and check out the beaches as well as enjoy the sunset and a boat trip to one of the smaller islands - also some great restaurants in town - Madame Ha - gets my vote as best restaurant 2025 . I have stayed here for 2 weeks in the past during the month of November - fantastic weather - if windy or rainy perhaps 3-4 days .
