We took a shuttle from the hotel to the port for a ferry to Mackinac Island and back to the hotel when it was finished. We only saw the town as we rode through but went back to a Jamaican restaurant for dinner. It would be fun to spend more time here to visit more of the town and what sites they might hold.

The people in Marquette were very nice. It depends on what you are looking for. Marquette was more congested than I expected but it offered a lot of good things. They had great museums, some fun shops, good food and friendly people.

The Pictured Rocks tour was fabulous.

The Pictured Rocks tour was fabulous. We gained an hour getting there the night before from where we live. We tried to get something to eat in town at 8:00p.m (which was 7:00 for us) and nothing was open that said they were on a Thursday before Labor day. Finding a place to eat was absolutely frustrating and had to settle for a fast food burger or a Gas station pizza place.....ugh. Closing kitchens at 8pm seemed out of the norm for us especially in a tourist city. With nothing much else to offer outside of a beautiful landscape we probably would not return anytime soon for something to do and see.

My son loves the big boats. Being able to check on the app or call the hot line as to weekday what ships were coming when made the stay even better. There's so much to see there that it made the stay even better.

Great little town to drive through on a road trip!

Great little town to drive through on a road trip! Stayed in a very comfy king size bed at the Travelodge to split up our drive from Ontario to Minnesota, both ways! Lots of options for shopping, restaurants, fast food, banks etc. We ate at the Wendy's which was very clean and had friendly staff. We also visited the Walmart which was way bigger than we expected for a small town. Upper Peninsula, Michigan is such a wonderful area and we will definitely be visiting again.

It's a small, old town with not a lot to do during the winter months unless you're into outdoor sports. Only an hour from Green Bay, so it's not a bad drive for a get away. Interesting if you're into Wisconsin history.

Ironwood is a great place to spend a few days many hiking trails and cool waterfalls, short staffed in many restaurants made it more difficult to find places to eat but this is happening in many areas. Ironwood is definitely worth exploring. I went to the area twice this past year and each time explored something different. I do not ski but the area looked like it would be a very fun place for a winter ski trip or a snowmobiling trip.

I loved that there is so much to explore.

I loved that there is so much to explore. So much to do and not a day passes where you need to get in a vehicle or worry about being hit by a vehicle on the road. Cars are not allowed. People ride bikes, walk, or travel by horse drawn carriages. We spent our whole trip outside: walking everywhere in the sunshine, sightseeing and it seems there’s a beautiful scene around every corner. Mackinac Island is not for people who don’t like crowds because in downtown, it gets crowded; however, if you are staying overnight you will see in the late evenings, it’s not as busy. Also, if you stay in a more affluent hotel farther out from downtown you can avoid the crowds. We wanted to be in the heart of the activity so we stayed in downtown.
