Always someone on hand who could speak English and interpret for me. I am a coeliac so need gluten free food. I was able to communicate that, and the staff were very careful to provide me with suitable options and provided alternatives when my choices contained gluten. Needless to say, knowing that I had gf food available to eat at the hotel took a lot of the stress out of being in Tainan. So a big thank you to the chefs and wait staff for going out of their way for me. Complimentary fruit and drinks in the room. Beautiful, comfortable and spacious bedroom, and a lovely bathroom. The city is excellent and offers a great deal of places to visit, like Hayashi Store for some amazing souvenirs, Confucius Temple to appreciate the ancient learning and culture, a lot of Museums to showcase the art and history of the city, and the fantastic night markets for local cuisine of Tainan. I would not recommend visiting on a Monday as most of the shops, cafes and bars were shut during the day time and also in the evening it was quite difficult to find somewhere to eat.
