Muhammed and Brigitte are great hosts. We loved to stay at their place. They helped us not only with recommendations for places to visit and eat but also made us feel at home. The apartment is spacious and clean, as clean as it gets with the sahara at the doorsteps, and we very much appreciated the nice pool in the yard.

The hosts were lovely and extremely welcoming and helpful. We had a wonderful time, it could not have been better! The garden is beautiful and the perfect place to relax. Additionally, the food in the restaurant was very good and clearly prepared with love and care. For people exploring the south of Tunisia (and birds or other wildlife), the location is great - supermarkets and tank stations nearby in Kebili - while the Sahara, mountains and salt lake are all within an hour drive. I cannot recommend this place enough, and when we return to Tunisia we will for sure visit Dar Barka again!

The owner of this place was the nicest most accommodating host in Tunisia. He quickly and easily helped us organise a camel tour in Douz at an amazing price. Breakfast was fresh and delicious too. The location is great, about a 10-15 minute walk from the town center. The owner also recommended a great restaurant in town. The room was simple and had everything we needed for a short stay. Internet standard for Tunisia.

Wow!!! Defintive recommendation if you stay at Douz! I wish I could give you more than 10 points!! Small bungalow with comfortable bed, bathroom. Beautiful garden. On foot you can reach the beginning of the desert within minutes. The bungalows are located within the palmtree area. The dinner I booked additionally was really tasteful, it was shown how to traditionally bake bread in the desert sand. Unique experience!!!

This place is truly an oasis in the desert! Everything was very clean! The staff was very polite and helpful! Also there is a factory with many delicious date products!

Mohammed the personal singer and Abdel the cook were simply amazing. hospitality second to none and full of information about their local culture. I booked on the same day via what's app and the owner was very accomodating and picked us up just several hours after initial contact to take us to the tent. What a unique experience !
