Before arriving, the reception staff called to reassure me about the parking arrangements with an electric car and driver at the car park to take care of the luggage and drive to reception. The reception staff are engaging and welcoming with knowledge about any questions. The staff also pointed out directions to the floating market, which was open for dinner as I arrived late in the afternoon. The hotel has a charming character and a historical past, with a museum and a small temple for prayer. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed with antique furniture and period fittings in the bathroom. There is a restaurant for dinner and a balcony terrace above for breakfast, both overlooking the river. The two most wonderfully sweet fluffy puppys... if thats your thing, it is ours, and a kind loving guard dog kept us safe in our bungalow. Such loving face and eyes! If its not then no worries they will leave you alone. Great room, great AC, great shower/bathroom, Comfortable bed and sheets, good fridge. We have arrived here directly from Bangkok airport and could not expect a better welcome. The team was very lovely and helpful from the first minute. We received juice, fruits and as soon as we arrived. We were told that they decided to upgrade our room but we decided to stay on the original one as we needed a connecting door. The room was modern/concrete/sparsely decorated but had everything we needed. Loved the monitor lizards swimming past our room :) The property is set in a sizeable garden with some quirky decorations along the river. Upon arrival we were asked to pre-order breakfast. When we were checking in there were 2 ladies that were showing is around the rooms. As one lady took us upstairs the other lady started digging into my wife's purse. Luckily my wife turned and looked down the stairs just in time to catch her. There was a bit of yelling that ensued and the owner ensured us that she would not be returning. The next day we saw her again on the property and when she saw us she took off running. Our room was infested with ants and the room would shake every time a car passed by. One of the showers on the second floor was collapsing and I'm sure it won't last much longer. The mattresses were rock hard which made it very hard to sleep especially with ants crawling all over us. There are many things to do.
There are many things to do. We were there during the week so the floating market was not in full swing but we were busy for three days. Recommend having a small car but taxis also available. Great restaurants all over the area and fantastic seal food AA it’s also a fishing base. Umbrella train is worth taking for a short trip as well.Guest review byPaulAustralia - 10.0
