- From US$30.55 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 106 reviewsThe place had a real historic charm with beautiful woodwork in the large lobby. The pool was large and clean. The room was nice, The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was good and plentiful. It was a buffet with mostly Thai food but they had toast, coffee, eggs and fruit. They rented me a bike to explore the old town to see the Teak mansions and gave a useful map. There was a restaurant cross the street to eat and drink. It was less than five minutes walk to the bus station and a 10 minute bike ride to the old town center.Guest review byLeeUnited States

I was here for a family visit for three days as my wife is Thai and comes from the area. Phrae is one of those stop over towns if you are going from Bangkok to say Chang Mai very clean and with lots of Wats. Shopping is for locals not for tourists and no mall as such. you do need a car to get around as public transport is limited. Suprisingly there are lots of cafes/bars/restaurants that cater for all tastes and not at city prices.Guest review byAnthonyNew Zealand - 10.0
A lovely Northern Thai town.
A lovely Northern Thai town. Full of atmosphere, culture and history. Great food and facilities (including a sports stadium if you wish to run and a well equipped and cheap gym if you wish to work out) - in a town that seems to receive relatively few western travellers.Guest review byMatthewUnited Kingdom - 10.0
I loved every minute of being in Phrae.
I loved every minute of being in Phrae. Not only is the town charming and pretty but the whole valley is just a lovely place to be. Relaxed atmosphere, amazing people and some fantastic food to be had if you know the right places to go. It's pretty much essential to have a car, and the roads are on the whole very good. Some really nice drives to be done around the mountains as well as exploring the towns and villages on the valley floorGuest review byEliotSweden
