The whole place it's absolutely stunning, love how rural it is, authentic Slovak place. Staff was so lovely, helpful and nice. Food was excellent, delicious, tasty, quality products, best pork ribs ever. Accommodation itself was comfortable, clean, quiet, it had everything that we need it and more.

Superb hidden gem near a really interesting Slovak industrial town. A little drive to find it but worth the trip. We were the only people staying and although language was tricky the kitchen stayed open for us and a meal was arranged for when we arrived, a local traditional meal which was delicious! The room was lovely with everything we needed. Plenty of parking as well. Breakfast good and obviously not going to be a Hilton buffet when you're the only people staying, but set us up nicely for the day. Thank you for the evening meal!

    Excellent, well placed hotel, in a quiet location, hosting some of the most close-to-perfect accomodations we ever encounterd in Slovakia. Very nice & communicative staff, taking care of the premises (per request & also on a regular basis). Big room(-s), very comfy beds and sofas, a perfectly working TV on quite a big flat-screen in one of two two perfectly clean rooms.. Microwave oven, electric kettle and a refrigerator as "just there for your convenience". Extra dishes a/o towels a/o few other things needed - we got these in return just for being asked for at the reception. Indeed, my GF and I felt treated very well. We also tried a few relaxing activities - here, the excellent & spacy wellness (located within the premises) came to play - it was superb. Steam sauna was unfortunately out of order, but the infra and Finnnish ones were top notch; also, the hot-tub was excellent.. Long story short, everything was exactly as anticipated (per web ads), possibly even beyond that. Again, we felt we got more than we anticipated. Not to forget the breakfast.. It was above "very good", as the two of us could really pick its contents accordingly to out preferences. Meat-eaters vs vegetarians vs vegans preferences posed no issue here. LbnL we were given a welcome option to park our motorcycles in a garage - thumbs up. All in all, the stay was much better than what we were expecting.

    In my 15 years of traveling around various countries, this is one of the best places I have stayed at (and the town of Bojnice must be one of the most underrated I've visited). It's in an old building with a lot of period furniture around, but the room is modern and cosy. They serve a great breakfast (included in the room price), and it's right next to the main square and a few minutes from the castle. It's excellent value for money overall, and elevated even further by the wonderful receptionist who was so kind and helpful all the time. Highly recommended, and I hope to come back here for longer some day.

    the room was really small, but cousy, each corner was used effectively, and the bathroom was as well really small but oddly cute and very clean! I liked it very much. Usually we come to the hotel only the night to sleep, for sleeping that was more than I needed, and really nice terrace makes the small room very charming. especially the walking distance to the Castle, and zoo, everything is around, really nice to stay.

    Wonderful hosts. Wonderful accomodation. Very clean and big rooms with view on the green hills. The canyon is worth to walk. In the restaurant of Penzion Manin we tasted delicious local foods.     What a beautiful place! The apartment is very clean with comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. The location is also fantastic! The street is very quiet, a 5-minute walk to Bojnice Castle and a bus stop, and a 10-minute walk to the nearest Lidl. Cannot recommend this place enough! We really enjoyed our stay 🤩

    My wife's home town so we go there every other year or so.

    My wife's home town so we go there every other year or so. I've been to a few places in Slovakia (Bratislava, Zilina, Piestany even Kosice) and Trencin is my favorite. Its small and quaint. Its main square is very nice. I has decent restaurants and cafes (the local brewery, Lanius, is particularly nice). The city's castel is certainly worth a visit (probably the best castle I've ever been to, though the Citadel in Sistrion comes pretty close) and the hill just above town offers plenty walking opportunities (if you like hills). The is even a fairly decent bike park up there (technical but not so technical you need to wear protection). Not much in the way of nightlife, but we don't go there for that anyway.

    Always visit the Zoo.

    Always visit the Zoo. If you you have enough energy after the Zoo, close by the Zoo is also Botanypark or Castle. You can go to the lookout tower and see the whole Prievidza and Bojnice. While walking towards the lookout tower, you can see or visit the DinoPark. Public transport is great but you are not there to travel around by public transport. WALK around :)

    Please do not visit. Theres literally nothing to see here. In the neighbour town Bojnice theres a zoo and the Bojnice castle. While the castle is okay, the zoo is not worth seeing. Bonus is overpriced parking. From 7 to 12 euros near the castle. No possibility to park in Bojnice town.

    Nice and quiet spa town with number of cafes and restaurants. Not as beautiful as some more famous spas, but more quiet compared to them. Nice trails in surrounding forests, however marking of these trails can improve.

    There is no central square or gathering place.

    There is no central square or gathering place. The Soviets destroyed the old square that was there and replaced it with two big Soviet-style apartment buildings. It's sad to see how the Soviets made a mess of what used to be a nice little city.

    I loved it in bojnice. It just felt nice! I didn't want to leave. I booked this hotel as it looked very nice and was very close to the castle which interested me along. As it happened the hotel was fabulous and so was the castle. I just couldn't take it all in. There were many bars and cafes in the village and the nearest big town was a few mins by car but I didn't go outside bojnice. There were also places to walk. There were also a few spas nearby

Restaurant at Zuzi with great home-made kitchen, Likerka with tasty coffee and cakes and a lot more. You can visit a wonderful Trenčín and its castle also. Nice experience.

    I don't understand why would someone go here with exception...

    I don't understand why would someone go here with exception of a business trip, a gitlfriend/boyfriend, or a concert/cultural event that young people in the city organize in order to make this miserable place a bit more livable (kudos to them! They are actually keeping this place somewhat alive). The city is basically one big highway with ugly advertisement visual smog on every corner, bearing a sad drug-use history wound. There is no history or things to do (except for formentioned cultural events), there are no noteworthy restaurants, nothing that would make you happy. The tiny bit of older houses and church they had in the otherwise beautiful valley surrounded by mountains got obliterated with socialism built ugly lifeless building blocks with countless car roads, and later finished by the most tasteless slovak architecture of the 90s/2000s. The newer built/reconstructed buildings continue in the ugly and cheap trend. The roads and buildings are spammed with ads (absolutely spammed). The urban planning of this city is a nightmare and the people in charge of the town do nothing about it. This town will make you depressed in 15 minutes. The only upside of Povazska Bystrica is that you can visit nearby nature. But if you were to do that i see absolutely no reason to sleep over in this town instead of booking a place outside of it somewhere in the country side or a forest. When on a holiday, visit only if you want to punish yourself or visit the town as a freak-show of how terrible a post socialism town can be, but don't make a sleep over.

    Trencin is a beautiful town with a stunning castle perched...

    Trencin is a beautiful town with a stunning castle perched above it. The centre is easy to walk around. All the restaurants we ate in were excellent and good value. There are outdoor and indoor swimming pools.
