- From $245.56 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,972 reviewsWe’re huge fans of this hotel. Over the past year, we’ve stayed three times and have experienced every type of room they offer. For adventure lovers, it’s simply fantastic. This time, we came especially for river rafting and gravel biking to enjoy Kiruna’s summer. Compared to the winter season, the atmosphere was much quieter, with a completely different vibe. It almost feels like you have the entire hotel to yourself—which is incredible. When it comes to the rooms, if you’re mainly there for the tours, any option will do. But if you’ve never stayed in an ice room, it’s an absolute must. Since we had already tried both the Deluxe and Art Suites before, this time we opted for a warm room(kamoos hotel room) , which worked perfectly. Before we stayed in a kamoos deluxe warm room and comparing to that, only significant difference was the comfiness of the bed. Pillows and mattress could be better. Also there was no mini fridge. Again, since we were out all day long for tours, -except the mattress- those didnt matter to us. Breakfast, as always, was fantastic. They’ve even added vegan bread—kudos to the chef, it was excellent. The dinner menu was the same as in winter: pricey, but absolutely delicious. Staff is amazing as always, we seen some familiar faces from our previous stays. Mostly they are working seasonal i guess but all of them are sharing the same passion. Overall, it’s a wonderful place both in winter and summer, but in my opinion, the real highlight is the tours. They are the perfect way to discover the North, immerse yourself in the culture, and experience the wilderness. So far, every guide we’ve had has been outstanding. I believe if we join few more tours, they will convince us to move to Kiruna :)Guest review byHKTurkey

Kiruna is the northernmost city in Sweden, located above the Arctic Circle in the heart of Swedish Lapland. Known for its stunning natural beauty, Kiruna offers a unique combination of wilderness, culture, and science. In winter, the city transforms into a magical wonderland, featuring snow-covered landscapes, the spectacular Northern Lights, and opportunities for dog sledding, snowmobiling, and visiting the renowned Ice Hotel in nearby Jukkasjärvi. In summer, the Midnight Sun shines for weeks, allowing endless outdoor adventures like hiking in the nearby Abisko National Park. Kiruna is also known for its fascinating historyGuest review byAnonymous - 10.0

I have been here eleven times, which must show that I like it very much. I have been here summer and winter as well. I mostly hike to Lapporten and Trollsjoen. On the other hand, I am not a fan of Kungsleden, which for me is a motorway for pedestrians.Guest review byJean-PaulDenmark - 10.0

Beautiful village, supermarket and post office close to the Icehotel. The oldest church in Sweden is located there. The torne river/ lake is stunning. The old homestead is a great restaurant located about 1km from the Icehotel. Food is delicious. Local people are very friendly and helpful.Guest review bylinseyIreland - 6.0

Gallivare is a mining town and in itself not particularly interesting for holiday takers but it provides good transport options to several of the national parks in the region. It is possible to make some nice walks in the immediate vicinity of the town but these alone are not a reason to travel there.Guest review byJohanBelgium - 10.0

Very cozy place with wonderful views in the middle of Lappland's montains. Over the 3.5 days we staed there we managed to ski, both alpine skiing and crosscountry and a few hikes. The weather was really nice, just a little cold (down to -22 in the morning, at the end of March), but dry, so the cold was not too bad. We managed to see also intense northern lights during one evening. According to locals it happens 1-2 times a week. The restaurant has good food at a decent price, but there are also several more expensive options that allows you to experience the local cuisine, with ingredients not much common in Stockholm as reindeer meat, cloudberries, etc.. There are only a few minor cons: The ski resort is nice, well made, just a bit small and uses only skilifts. Some of the possible other activities were in my opinion a bit overpriced. One extra advice: pubblic transport is very limited, as one should expect here, but the road is well kept, so if you want to explore around I recommend to rent a car in Kiruna..Guest review byRogerSweden - 6.0
It must be the perfect spot to watch northern lights.
It must be the perfect spot to watch northern lights. We came in August to enjoy nature by the lake. There is not much else around tho. No public transportation, no restaurants or anything... no sidewalks either. So bring your own car!Guest review byBastian CHSwitzerland - 10.0

Kiruna is a beautiful place with extraordinary winterscapes during the day and even more so on a moonlight night.. The cherry in the top was the extraordinary experience of being blessed by aurora corona and aurora borealis sighting every night we were there .. More over the museum explaining sami culture and giving us sn opportunity to be amongst reindeer was so soulful.. the extraordinary sculptures of ice and snow at the ice hotel , their classic warming drink in ice glasses was something else .. needless to say , it is a ‘must experience ‘ place.Guest review byEbrahim ShakilSweden - 10.0

Abisko e a beautiful place to watch the Northern Lights! It's a fantastic place to get some fresh breeze and enjoy the nature. The STF National Park is also a place to add in your list to visit. Quiet little town surrounded by beautiful nature.
Quiet little town surrounded by beautiful nature. There's a (Swedish price so expensive) grocery store for all your needs and a small tourist attractions area with reindeer feeding and petting, and reindeer meat burgers and hot lingon berry juice plus some basic information about the Saami and the historic wooden church that was built in town. And, of course, there is the Ice Hotel. Apart from that, there isn't much to see, but of course there are many activities that can be done out in nature in the area - dog and reindeer sledding, snowmobile tours, nordic skiing, trekking, ice fishing, watching the Northern Lights, ...Guest review byDorotheeSwitzerland - 2.0

Basic amenities like hand soap, shower gel was missing. There was no wifi. There was confusion on towels and bedspreads. When I booked, I checked that was included but doing check in process I got to know that it is not included. Worst quality toilet paper.Guest review byMaheshSweden
