Loved Lisbon! What a fantastic city with myriad offerings!
Loved Lisbon! What a fantastic city with myriad offerings! If you are in decent shape (I am 72, my husband 80, both in admirable condition), you will be able to handle a walk-about. You can eat at an inexpensive restaurant or at a 5-star hotel on the same block. Important sites are just a stone's throw, or an Uber ride away. Suppose you have been away long enough to miss the great American burger, as we were. In that case, there is a great burger place called To.B, located within 2 blocks of where we stayed (confirm the location as they've moved). Their burgers were better than ours!Guest review byWilliamUnited States - 8.0

The biggest disappointment was purchasing an all day pass for two to ride the buses. We were out waiting for the bus early to get to our scheduled time at Pena and two buses stopped but would not make room for just the two of us to get on (no one else was at the stop). It was raining and we ended up having to hike up to Pena in a hurry to get to our time slot. I am still trying to get my purchase refunded as we were never able to ride the bus.Guest review byDaryl and SusanUnited States - 10.0
This is a great place to visit.
This is a great place to visit. Not full of partygoers, just relaxed and beautiful. Three of my now retired colleagues have moved there, and as they are all very well travelled, it shows how welcoming the place is for all ages.Guest review byDAVIDUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Convenient location for overnight stopover.
Convenient location for overnight stopover. We wanted to try out a fish restaurant as we picked Setubal for this reason, being a fishing port, but got hopelessly lost in the evening. The rooms are now looking tired and in need of an update.Guest review byAnwarUnited Kingdom - 10.0

If you're a surfer it's a great location if not it's a great place for 3-4 days/nights to stroll the long promenade, go barefoot on the golden sandy beach with the ocean lapping at your feet. It's all local too, no global fast food restaurants of coffee shops, all amazing local cuisine, hangouts. The SKY BAR at TRYP on the 8th floor has a great view of the ocean. To relax, unwind and take in he ocean breeze it is idyllic. Caparica gets into your soulGuest review byOz MMalta - 8.0

A nice town, with a moderate-sized beach, a good range of restaurants in all classifications, some historical stuff, and a modern but still cosy atmosphere. Great for a week of leisure, beach, trips into the beautiful natural environment, and all. It is relatively close to Lisbon, but can be a difficult to reach by public transport. (Many routes are possible, depending on your day, time , and preferences.) Just go through it, spend 2 hours on the transfer, enjoy the view, the towns, and locals. We visited (a.o.) 2 great places for dinner: Black Coffee Sical (not just coffee, but also lovely meals and all) BATEL (a bit pricy, but OMG, what a tasty dishes they served us) Enjoy the food and atmosphere of these two contrasting places ! And one surprising hub on the beach promenade: the Gelatomania, an outlet for ice-creams, pancakes, waffles, coffees, and many more indulgences. Always busy, fast staff, and just delicious. Popular among young and old crowd, locals, tourists, families, caring couples, solo travellers, casual friends and thirsty dogs. Just pop by, it will quickly become your daily routine...Guest review byPeterNetherlands - 10.0
Estoril is ideal for singles, couples and families who want...
Estoril is ideal for singles, couples and families who want a relaxing break away. There are plenty of hotels, bars, cafes and restaurants but there isn’t a specific area or ‘strip’ of these, they are just dotted around. The casino and its garden are a dominant and attractive focal point so there are a few places near to it. There’s Portuguese food, of course, but also Italian, Chinese, Indian and Japanese. You can get fish and seafood dishes of any sort but there’s also lots of steak on offer. Prices are very reasonable. Some people travel in and out of the town specifically and solely to use the beach by day or the casino by night, some to attend events at the glamorous looking fort on the beach, so the town isn’t dead but it can feel quiet at certain times. It’s definitely a chilled out place to stay in. There are only a few local shops for groceries and not really any souvenir shops. In my opinion, it has more of a local, residential vibe and isn’t touristy. For a change of scene, by train Cascais is just a 5 minute ride away or Lisbon is about 40 minutes away. It’s great to visit either and then escape the crowds by returning to Estoril! There is currently a replacement bus service in operation after 9pm (not sure how easy that is to use) but at other times the trains are very frequent and inexpensive.Guest review byPaulaUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Oeiras is a suburb of Lisbon, so not overwhelmed by tourists. We found some great places to eat that were appreciative of our custom. There was a fantastic vegan restaurant just outside the town centre (Alma Veg). The main problem for us was the ddual carriageway that passes right by the beaches.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Booked last minute on our travels. Loved it . Staff very helpful My only complaint would be that the hotel didn’t sell alcoholic beverages but it wasn’t a problem. A small bar 2 minutes away ( lovely) and Lidl next doorGuest review byJanetUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Montijo is a hidden gem that beautifully blends traditional charm with modern amenities. Nestled close to Lisbon yet far enough to offer a serene escape, this town captivates with its rich history, friendly locals, and stunning natural landscapes. The quaint streets, vibrant markets, and delicious local cuisine provide an authentic taste of Portuguese culture. Its proximity to the Tagus River offers picturesque views and opportunities for leisurely walks or boat rides. Montijo is also a gateway to beautiful farm stays, where you can experience the peaceful countryside and savor fresh, local produce. The town's relaxed pace and welcoming vibe make it perfect for unwinding, while its convenient location allows easy exploration of nearby attractions. Whether you’re seeking tranquility, cultural immersion, or a base for day trips, Montijo delivers an unforgettable experience. A true Portuguese treasure that leaves you wanting to return!Guest review byManishPortugal
