Beautiful area in the Algarve region. Very large clean beach. Great choice of restaurants. lots of transport options eg taxi uber tuck tuck buses etc. Nice weather, never too windy. Lagos felt like a home from home for us, easy to get around, whether on foot or with the super-affordable Ubers. The food was incredible; not a single bad meal in 14 days, and all very reasonably priced. We loved Pie, Tieto (the all-you-can-eat Japanese spot, incredible) and of course Na Na Bah, home to one of the world’s top 50 burgers. You can't miss out on an early morning breakfast and one of the best coffees in town by going to Black and White - simply the best staff! The Portuguese people are genuinely friendly and full of life, we made so many new friends and felt completely welcomed. We are already planning our next trip and honestly wouldn’t change a thing. We split our stay between the Carvi Beach Hotel by Praia Dona Ana and the Marina Club Hotel near the marina, both within easy walking distance of the old town and both we would happily return to either. And do not miss the little café at the top of Praia Dona Ana Beach , all the profit helps to support the Philharmonic Orchester and Marisa serves what might just be the best 'Pastel de Nata' in all of Lagos.Guest review byJoannaUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Aljezur is a great location to visit if you like nature, surfing, good food, a slower pace of life. I would recommend staying in Aljezur, getting a car to drive around to different beaches and villages where you can find good restaurants. Amazing place lots of restaurants and bars but it is all spaced out if you have good legs this is no problem. Of course you can hire a car and drive out at night but if you want to drink you need to walk as we didn't see 1 taxi on our 9 night stay. Find accommodation near to Mareta beach as that's about central. Very young area lots of fit surfing people day and night which is great. There are 3 beaches within walking distance Tonel is the one for surfing if you can do!! Mareta beach is the nicest of the 3. There are many more you can drive to. The fort is interesting. Been visiting Alvor for yrs. This trip was the third this year. Alvor not for the party animal. But some great nights to be had. Walking along boardwalk and other pathways a must. The people are delightful, always smiling. Plenty of taxis to be had. For people with mobility issues Alvor might prove a challenge due to streets being steep,uneven footpaths that are also narrow. A quiet and pretty small village that remains authentic. A great place for a short visit if you like to avoid the crowds or to look for accomodation if you plan to explore the gorgeous 'vicentina' coast, with car access to many great beaches. Most of these beaches are likely to be too 'wild' for most people, with difficult access, but they are perfect for the more adventurers and, again, for those who prefer to avoid the crowds. Plus, there are a few places in the village centre where you can enjoy a really tasteful light meal, of which I'd definitely reccommend the restaurants 'Ao Largo' and 'Casa Verde'.Guest review byTiagoPortugal - 8.0

We chose Luz because it looked like it had a lovely holiday vibe. A nice soft sandy beach and lots of eateries to provide all different types of cuisine. Our visits to Armacao de Pera have been out of season so reasonably quiet, perfect for us. The beach is one of the longest in the Algarve plus a boardwalk which extends for miles. Excellent for those who want long walks. There are small more sheltered sections of beach immediately in front of the central area for sunbathers and swimmers. Wide selection of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance of central accommodation. Large Lidl supermarket close to front with a large selection of smaller supermarkets and shops in the central area. Recently completed car park on beach front costs but convenient.
