IrelandThis is a very small hotel (only 3 rooms) which only adds to its charm. Its location in the centre of Picton is an additional benefit as it is only a couple of minutes' walk from shops and nearby facilities.The old world style of decor ,the large rooms which are spotless and supremely comfortable has to be experienced. The restaurant is closed for evening meals , but the welcome touch of a wine and cheese plate is a unique touch. Breakfast is offered and sets you up for the day ahead.
I would love to stay here again.

The apartment is huge, fully equipped, you'll miss nothing from there. You'll need to go there with watertaxi, fast, not cheap but worth it. Trevor and Jann so lovely and helpful in everything, kayak, SUP, they have a street food truck also if you want dinner there, but you could grill yourself also. We were there for the annual Marina 2 Marina race which is a fun event to take part in. Picton is a nice place to visit so not just the town where you get the ferry to Wellington - it's way more than that! Good range of shops and restaurants to look at, great playground on the foreshore for the kids and a nice place to have lunch and enjoy the stunning view of the harbour. My stay was cut short due to Covid =lockdown, however the 2 nights i spent here was great, would recommend this hotel to others. Very clean spacious and well located for vineyards. Stunning location in a lovely rural setting. Abundance of wild birds in a beautiful garden setting containg fruit orchards. A very relaxing B & B where the hosts have added so many little extra touches eg chocolates beside the bed, M&Ms, good selection of teas. There is a pub about 2 miles away which serves stunning renowned beef burgers. Jill and Peter were wonderful hosts. Lochmara Bay has so much to see and do and has beautiful scenery. Peaceful and quiet if you don't mind the odd speedboat or jetski. Lochmara Lodge is a fantastic option for people stopping in from tramping on the Queen Charlotte Track or visiting by boat (20 mins from Picton) - the accommodation was excellent as was the food and activities on offer. They even take your bags boat to door and back! Activities include roaming the stunning gardens with unusual forest artwork, enjoying the wildlife in the forest and marine life from the viewing boat, feeding the animals, kayaking, swimming when warm enough, lying in the hammocks!!! Spectacular views from their property and we had everything we needed for. The property was very clean.
