BulgariaI stayed at Alive Beach House for a few nights with my husband. The location is perfect — right on the beach, very quiet, and not crowded. The room was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful view of the ocean.
The staff was very friendly and relaxed. We joined the morning yoga classes at a very affordable price and it was really enjoyable. The food at the hotel was also good — fresh and healthy, with vegetarian and vegan options.
If you want to relax and disconnect from the busy world, this is a great place. It’s simple but well organized, and we felt really comfortable the whole time

They also helped us with arranging a taxi to our next stop, even during the busy 'Holy week'.
The location was perfect. With a walk on the beach you could go to all the other restaurants (when you would like to eat outside)
Another fun thing, they named all the rooms to a famous Belgum beers.

AustraliaThis was a fabulous place to stay in Leon; very close to multiple restaurants and the main square. It is quite safe walking around at night.
We had a small room next to the pool which was mostly very quiet.
Lovely garden area for breakfast or evening drinks
The staff were very friendly and helpful. In particular, I highly recommend Milton at the front desk, who went out of his way to help us find a private car service to our next stop in El Salvador, as our extensive Internet searches were fruitless. (See below)
We really appreciate the efforts that Milton made to help us.
Claudio, from ‘Transport & Shuttles Nicas’, can be found on FaceBook, and he was far better and far cheaper than other corporate car services we found and he drove us in a brand new very comfortable air con car all the way through Nicaragua across Honduras and crossed two borders to get us safely and easily into El Salvador

United KingdomThe hotel itself is just 5 minutes walk from the central square. It has spacious double rooms with fans and air conditioning. The breakfast is hearty and plentiful. It is peaceful and above all the staff are exceptional. They will help you with anything you need. They organised our transport into Honduras and maintained in contact the whole time. I couldn’t recommend this hotel any more highly!

Private rooms also have fan, and A/C for an extra cost. - 3 shared bathrooms, regularly cleaned (multiple times a day). No hot water, but the cold water isn't freezing cold. - Same desayuno every morning, but two differents options (eggs with gallo pinto or pancakes). - Kitchen well furnished. Old pans and pots, but still doing the job. - Good Wi-fi in the main common area, weak in the back part of the hostel (but I think there's an other Wi-fi network for there). - Location right between the city center and the bus terminal (10-15 minutes of walk going to either of). - Laundry service available. The hotel staff arranged my airport pick up, which was a fair price. The receptionist (Angelika?) was very welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. The whole hotel has a lovely colonial / vintage feel. There was some really beautiful artwork throughout, some of which was painted by the owners mum. It had a lovely charming feel. I didn’t use the small pool, but this is definitely a bonus for the high temperatures in Leon. My room was lovely and comfortable. Everywhere was spotless. Breakfast was included and was also excellent. The location was perfect for exploring Leon and felt very safe. Leon is a pretty and interesting city.
Leon is a pretty and interesting city. We enjoyed a walking tour and the art museum was absolutely fantastic. We also really enjoyed doing a few trips from here - to the beach/mangroves at Las Penatas, and a volcano hike. Las Penitas is only 2 hours from Managua and 20 mins from lovely Leon. It’s totally relaxing, with some great places to eat for every budget, surf schools and mangroves to explore. The fishermen bringing their boats in up the river are a great sight to see at high tide.
