It's painful recent history has been carefully remembered without being oppressive to tourists. The Hotel Flor de Sarta is nicely located on the edge of the city centre so guests can spend time in the bustling city as well as relax within the hotel area. There is a small pool which is perfect for a quick dip to cool down and there is a quiet courtyard where you can sit and read under cover during the heat of the day. Breakfast is typically Nicaraguan, which means it is simple but excellent. If you prefer something different there are plenty of cafes nearby. In summary, Hotel Flor de Sarta is excellent for a visit to the city of Leon.Guest review byPeterIreland

Common areas are super comfortable, overlooking the beach, and encourages chatting with the other guests but there's also areas to chill in a hammock, do yoga, or watch the surf and beach action. The young staff are very lively and welcoming. Our beginner surf lesson was awesome. A/C in the room worked very well and the sleep was quiet (except during the day when neighbours play music). We communicated through booking.com when we had an issue and they were very helpful and resolved it quickly. They also came and talked to us in person after the issue was resolved. They are very service minded. We used their laundry service and we were happy with the results since we had some dirt stains that we didn’t manage to remove ourselves with handwash but their washing managed to make it clean. It’s one of the best spots on the pacific coast in Nicaragua. Sandrine and her family are excepcionally welcoming and make you feel at home. Leon is a pretty and interesting city.
Leon is a pretty and interesting city. We enjoyed a walking tour and the art museum was absolutely fantastic. We also really enjoyed doing a few trips from here - to the beach/mangroves at Las Penatas, and a volcano hike. Las Penitas is only 2 hours from Managua and 20 mins from lovely Leon. It’s totally relaxing, with some great places to eat for every budget, surf schools and mangroves to explore. The fishermen bringing their boats in up the river are a great sight to see at high tide. Food was great, Tony was an amazing server and took care of us like we were family. On the down side, hotel needs a lot of improvement. Bathrooms are very duty, the lobby for some reason smelled like pee, and the cushions on the dining area were very duty too.Guest review byannette_0812Nicaragua
