I treated myself to the queen room, a Christmas present to myself! It was spacious, the bed was very comfy, the huge walk-in closet also had a modern clothes airer and the bathroom was large and clean and well lit. It all felt very modern. The pool, hammocks and the lounge chairs outside were great for relaxing and the large fridge came in useful, especially the ice and water dispenser. There was a choice of breakfasts. The tours I booked with the hostel were well-ran with very professional guides and transportation people. The owners of the hostel couldn’t have been more helpful, happy to their spend time with the people staying there and answering all the questions I had. The main house is in a gorgeous setting with views in all directions, of greenery, the volcano and the lake beyond. The room is big and comfortable and naturally well ventilated. One of very few places which actually had enough storage space! I loved the outdoor shower. The common areas are fantastic, and would have plenty of space to cook and eat for a big group. Granada is a pretty colonial town allowing easy access to Lake Nicaragua and an hour and a half drive to the Southwest to hit the beaches of the Pacific Ocean.
