- From US$172.63 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 796 reviewsDesert Camp has a stunning location, surrounded by gorgeous desert scenery and minutes away from the national park entrance. The houses are clean and comfortable, equipped with aircon, a safety deposit box and a spacious bathroom. Each unit has its own driveway, so you can park right next to the house. There's enough space between houses to allow for ample privacy and there's really nothing standing in the way of complete peace & quiet (except the occasional gemsbok that were wandering around :)). The welcome at reception was efficient and friendly, the little bar next to it is open until 10pm and has wifi (drinks can be put on your room bill and credit cards are readily accepted). There's a pool too: we did not have time to try it but it did look inviting.Guest review bySzabolcsHungary
- From US$395.82 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 329 reviewsThis was my second time here within 14 months, so my expectations were pretty high after last year's excellent experiences. It was a bit like coming back home here and the familiarity of the surroundings has made our stay again very spacial. It was great to see that the amenities were still in top shape and well maintained, despite the climatic elements (heat, wind, erosion) buildings in this area have to brave. The most memorable aspect of staying here nevertheless is interacting with the staff, who go over and beyond to make you feel comfortable, pampered, and entertained. A big thank you goes out to them, as they are really the heart and soul of this place.Guest review byGeorges08Austria
- From US$249.32 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 213 reviewsThe lodge is strategically located, less than 1h drive from Sessriem, on the outskirt of a mountain in a very nice position. The rooms are modern, super clean and spacious, sorrounded by a green garden with many trees. The common areas are equally well equipped, clean and well maintained. The breakfast provides a large number of choices for food. The value for money of the dinner is extremely advantagious.Guest review byIgorItaly
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 653 reviewsThe style of hotel and setting is wonderful. Rooms are spacious and romanticaly designed. Nice little pool area for when you are around and not out and about. Chat to the staff and you will laugh a lot. Lovely, restaurant with a beautiful setting for pre-dinner drinks and sunset selfies with an Oryx. Wonderful start (after Windhoek) to our Namibian adventure.Guest review byThomasPoland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 89 reviewsVery nice and quiet lodge in the middle of the desert, yet not that far away from the main road and Sossusvlei/Deadvlei that it was a pain to get there. The lodge has a lovely staff that took care of us in an excellent way. Also the day tour they provide is very much worth it. They provide spacious, clean lodges with warm showers. Also the food was great.Guest review byJasperNetherlands

It was busy but still private enough not to spoil the overnight stay. The staff were very helpful in the shop. It was useful to have the fuel station as well. The supplies in the shop were adequate for the overnight stay and the location was convenient for Sossusvlei. The drive into Sossusvlei was fine but very crowded when we got to Deadvlei. Well worth a visit though.Guest review byFionaZimbabwe - 8.0

We stayed in this location mainly to visit Sossusvlei which is further south. Solitaire itself is a charming but tiny settlement - only a few buildings and a petrol station, however it has an amazing cafe serving "the world's best apple pie" and it was! Solitaire is about a 20 minute drive from Soft Adventure Camp at the Namib Naukluft Lodge.Guest review byJulietAustralia - 10.0
We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance...
We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance gate. It was an easy drive to the park, and the 60km of wonderful tarred road to the 2 wheel drive car park. This gives access to Dig Daddy dune and Deadvlei. From here the park vehicle took us to Big Momma dune, and also goes to Hidden Vlei. All very easy. Dune 45 is 45 km along the road. The bus cost 180 Namibian dollars in October 2023. Wear runners to climb the dunes and walk to Deadvlei. Har, sunglasses and water are essential. We ate at the restaurant inside the park gate. Good and affordable. We bought our water at the shop there. Breakfast at the Sossusvlei Lodge was good too. I would recommend paying extra for tyre and glass insurance when picking up your rental car. Prior to coming to Sesriem, we had a flat tyre far from anywhere and Hertz directed us to a lodge with tyre repair services. We had to go on to Outjo to get the fixed tyre replaced, but the insurance made it less of a concern.Guest review byStevenIreland - 10.0

Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth.
Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth. Wonderful place to spend time with. At least you need to stay 1 night inside park to make sure that you can go to Deadvlei early in the moring. Take photos with shade of light. Hiking at Daddy dune in the morning and slide down to deadvlei.Guest review byOnnichaThailand - 10.0
