I’d describe our stay as value for money. We didn’t pay much for two nights but we got sweet staff, great breakfast, a nice swimming pool and a good and modern treadmill which I appreciated a lot. The hotel contacted us before arriving and arranged a full day of safari for us. We (my girlfriend and I) got picked up by Channa at 4.30 am and had one of the best days of our lives. We saw three leopards fighting and playing and our driver Channa was so good and found the leopards in the early morning. He had 18 years of experience and I hope everyone else gets the chance to go safari at Yala National Park with Channa

Without any doubt, best hotel in Tissa. This was the best hotel in our trip to Sri Lanka and we were in 7! within 2 weeks. The room and the bathroom are huge. The staff are so kind are they are always willing to help you to do your stay more confortable. The owner is checking that everything is perfect for you and they are always providing the best service.

We absolutely loved it here, we’ve even got a room upgrade when we arrived (thank you!!). Everyone is really nice and the food is just amazing, make sure to get your dinner here. The view to the fields & the lake is absolutely amazing! You can also rent bikes to get to the city.

The owner (Guyan) went over and above to make my stay memorable. What a fantastic host! He arranged so many things for me: Pickup and drop off at the bus stop. We had the best stay at Black Panther! Nalin is the kindest person ever and so helpful with everything! He took us around and spotted some super nice birds. He was really knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about them. He also helped with organizing a safari to Yala where we had a great time :) Also the rest of the family is so nice and the dinner we had was absolutely delicious, one of the best we had so far! The rooms are further really spacious and clean, felt really comfortable! We will definitely come back!

Almost undescribable! Randy and his family are some of the most generous and warmhearted people we ever met. Randy shared a lot of intersting information about his country, culture, nature and life. The traditional food his wife and her mother cooked was more than delicious. Furthermore, we have been pampered with fruit juices and fruit plates. Randy helped us with everything we needed and organized a great safari tour for us. Nisanka, our tour guide, was very nice and had a great feeleng for finding the animals. The accommodation itelf offers big and modern rooms, a wounderful garden to relax and everything was so clean. We warmly recommend Randys house to everybody!

What we liked? Absolutely everything. Now we understand all positive reviews. When we arrived owner and his family welcomed us with cold towels and refreshing coconut water. Room was clean and cleanliness over whole property as well. Can recommend homemade dinner at hotel, it was delicious. If you are traveling for multiple days as us, you can use their laundry service. Owner acts very professional, you can see high standards in almost every aspect from check-in, food serving, to check-out.

Housekeeping staff surprised us with lovely handwritten notes and decor every day! Nature trails were led by the Excellent team, Mr.Sampath , specifically did a fantastic job guiding us to spot leopards, elephants, and all the wildlife. Perfect location to spot wild life all around the resort. Nothing more a nature lover could ask for!! Food was exceptional with local cuisine and international cuisine as well. We loved our stay all throughout.. Highly recommend Cinnamon wild Yala!! Staying at Yala, look no more than Cinnamon wild!!

    We stayed in this hotel for 2 days in October 2023. The hotel is located in the Yala Nature Reserve on the ocean. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel staff. The general manager of Colonel proved to be an amazing person. He gave us a real celebration in honor of our wedding anniversary. It was funny and unforgettable. The hotel itself is not new, but it has everything you need. The rooms are large and colorful. All with ocean views, comfortable enough. Many thanks to the staff of the entire hotel for their hospitality and attention to our people.

    Uga chena huts were like a heaven on earth. Amazing scenery, amazing ambience , amazing eco friendly architecture , amazing team to take care of you and pamper you with attention and great food presented in Michelin star way.     Had a wonderful experience at Leopards Nest. The rooms located in the middle of the nature with such good view. Super politie staff, which arranged BBQ and bonfire for dinner the two nights during our stay. We also booked a full day Safari through the Hotel, which was also a very good experience. Our guide was nice and the hotel had prepared an amazing lunch for us. The trip to the hotel is bumpy, but a part of the experience.

    Tissamaharama is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of southern Sri Lanka. It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!

    Kataragama itself is a temple town and that’s pretty much it. Other than that it’s a jumping off point for safari in yala and kumana. One day is more than enough for cultural/religious aspects. The Perahara (pageant) in July is fantastic. Be warned that it may not start till midnight and may need pre booked tickets. Also watch out for pickpockets in crowded areas around this time. The country side and the rural life as well as the wildlife is fantastic and authentic. Quite hot and sunny year round but dec to feb is more comfortable.

    This place is amazing.

    This place is amazing. We stay with our 3 young kids and the staff were so kind and attentive. All of the small details have been thought of and it’s a wonderful experience in nature. Lovely local Sri Lankan are served for each meal.

    A great place to stay and would definitely recommend.

    A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

    Weerawila, located in a dry zone of Sri Lanka, is ideal for wildlife safaris and nature experiences. This location is especially convenient during the rainy season, as it often stays dry even when the rest of the country is experiencing thunderstorms. We chose it specifically to avoid heavy rains.

    We went for leopard safari & it is in zones 5&6.

    We went for leopard safari & it is in zones 5&6. Safari was excellent & saw one leopard & a bear! Hotels generally not near any restaurants so confined to your hotel for dining. Would not want more than one or two nights there.

    The owner of Serenity lake advices us to visit Yala safari, Sithul pawwa magul viharaya and sithul pawwa a super history with beautiful scenery, which we did and we're very grateful for his advice. We returned to the serenity lake to have lunch before heading off. Requested for a village kind of lunch with the local veggies and it was served on a lotus leaf... The most delicious meal it was. We had lunch at Reds and at the Serenity lake .

    I thought it was a different place to go for Safari.

    I thought it was a different place to go for Safari. But, almost all vehicles come from Tissa for Safari pickup so it doesn't really matter if you book a room in Tissa or Katharagama for the Safari.

    It definitely is an experience worth trying.

    It definitely is an experience worth trying. The tree house has all the comforts you need but yet kept on the simple side. Don't expect much and you will get a lot. Nice food Bbq and big fire lit for you in the evening to give you a chance to relax and talk about your day activities. It was great to be left alone and the silence of the night. There were times you just felt that we were the only ones there and when you needed something the staff would magically appear

    We were extremely satisfied with the hotel and its beautiful surroundings. Everything exceeded our expectations. We took lots of photos & are sharing them with friends. The restaurants,Roof bar,Spa's and the pool side and pool is world class with out doubt! The service was outstanding, and that is something that can really make or break a vacation. Congratulations to the Super Proactive General Manager Mr Krishanta Damunupola and his team members to include Mr Seeman and Miss Sandani(Intern) for being so accommodating at all times with oodles of dedication. We also especially liked the super-comfy room with the balcony, bed linens which were very high quality, and felt so good to slip into each night. Thanks so much for a lovely visit.We'll be singing your praises for a long time. Thanks!
