The pool is great. We used it every day. The co-working area is solid too. Fast WiFi, plenty of space, and a good setup to get work done. Location is perfect. Would definitely stay here again.

The owner and staff are the friendlier and caring you can find - ready to assist any time - who also prepare delicious and varied breakfast every day. We booked the place for two nights and ended up staying six. WiFi works is extremely fast, which is very convenient if you have to work and do VTC. Also the rooms are much bigger than advertised, they have a separate kitchen and a washing machine! We would definitely go back to this peaceful hidden gem! It was a pleasure to stay in this resort, the facilities are amazing, and brand new. The staff are incredibly polite with very good English speaking. They made the check-in process very nice & smooth and helped recommend places to see and visit on the South Coast.
My room was also very comfortable, considering most places I've stayed in Sri Lanka the bed tends to be a little harder, but the rooms in Terra Resort had the comfiest bed & pillows.
The location is also a short 5ish min walk to the main beach of Kabalana which makes it really easy to get around.
The reception also has tuktuk call services too, that come to pick you up from the resort if you want to get into town or go surfing.
I highly recommend this place if it's your first time in Sri Lanka, Or if you looking for an earthy boutique-style place to stay, it made my journey to this country all the sweeter.

We recently spent five days at this beautiful hotel, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. Every single person working here deserves the highest praise: From the reception and restaurant teams to the spa staff, gardeners, and service crew. Everyone was incredibly friendly, genuine, and always ready to help with a smile.
A very special thank you goes to our butler, Badde, who made our stay unforgettable. His attention to detail and thoughtful surprises turned our holiday into something even more special. Beyond his professionalism, he is simply a wonderful person, full of positive energy.
The property itself is breathtaking. Located on a large rock overlooking the coast, it feels as if you are floating between forest, beach, and sea. The sound of the waves is always present, and the views in every direction are magical. Despite being around 30 years old, the hotel feels modern and very well maintained. Improvements are constantly being made. The architecture and interior design are unique and tasteful, far more characterful than in many new hotels.
Some reviews mention that certain areas might feel a little “aged,” but in our opinion, that criticism is entirely misplaced. Naturally, not every pool or wall can be rebuilt every few years and there is absolutely no reason to. Everything is clean, comfortable, and well maintained.
The food is another highlight. Even after five days, we kept discovering new dishes to try, each one beautifully presented and full of flavor. The variety and quality are truly impressive.
All in all, this hotel combines hospitality, design and experience in a way that’s very rare to find. We left deeply relaxed and already looking forward to returning one day.

Had a great experience at Pandanus Beach Resort. Everything: location, room, restaurant, view, pool, beach was absolutely delightful! Hotel Staff members were friendly and very helpful. Everything was immaculate, clean and tidy.
Pleasant surprise was an invitation to cocktail party by the Hotel management, where we had amazing time communicating with other guests and having delicious drinks.
Left with lots of amazing memories staring with early morning walks on the beach, relaxing time on sunbed and warm waves of the ocean, dinners with delicious food and life music…. If I ever return to Sri Lanka, the Pandanus Beach Resort is the Hotel I am definitely going to stay!

We got that hotel for a very good price and were really happy about the hotel although the reviews were mixed. Although the hotel is little bit old, they keep an eye on cleanliness and perfect service!

During that time of the year, the beach in front of the hotel is not suitable for swimming. However, just a 5 minutes walk, there is a beach you can also swim during monsoon season.

Area is lovely. Jungle pools are clean and so much fun and this place is so nice and quiet away from the traffic.
Lot of people during day but mornings and afternoon we had the whole poolarea for ourselves. Ravi the owner upgraded is to a bigger villa last night and also have us an intereresting tour in the garden!
We highly recommend some days here if you visit the west coast of Sri lanka!! Thank you so much!

The Galle Fort in Galle is my absolute favorite place — it has a vibe of its own. It’s completely safe at any time of the day, even for solo travelers. There’s so much history within the Fort walls to learn about and beautiful architecture to explore. The hosts at the restaurants and hotels inside the Fort are amazing, and the service is truly of international standard. The view of the Indian Ocean from the Ramparts is simply breathtaking. There are plenty of restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines and dishes to try.
Outside the Fort, I highly recommend visiting the beaches at Unawatuna, just a few kilometers from Galle City Centre. While you’re there, don’t miss the Japanese Peace Pagoda at Rumassala — you won’t regret it! Yaddehimulla Road in Unawatuna has everything from surf schools and restaurants to gem shops, gelato spots, international cuisines, and everything in between.
For quick bites and essentials, SPAR Supermarket at Galle City Centre is your go-to place. You’ll find tasty rice and curry meals, ready-to-eat options, mosquito repellent, basic medical supplies, snacks, good-quality fruits, and other everyday necessities.

Wonderful beach.
Wonderful beach. Unawatuna is tropical bliss: golden crescent beach, clear snorkeling waters, and a relaxed vibe. The beachfront villa was stylish, spotless, with ocean-view balconies and perfect sunrise views. Prime location—steps to the shore, near cafes and jungle paths, yet peaceful. Flawless in every way.

We did not venture into Bentota.
We did not venture into Bentota. We are expats living in Colombo so no need to explore the city. The hotel was at the right spot for a 100% relaxing weekend away with no distractions. The ocean is not that swimmable as the sea was very rough and looked dangerous. The pool was a welcome alternative. We drove to Galle for the Saturday to watch the game between Springboks and Kiwis. That was not too far, one hour away and a very scenic route. The hotel was also fully booked so must be popular.

Ahangama is so peaceful - it's slightly away from the busier areas around the coast. The restaurants around are in great locations, and all very calm with great vibes. It's also very easy and quick to get to neighbouring towns to visit sites, or restaurants in those locations as well.

A little town which is friendly colourful with plenty of shops for anything you need …only issue is that like every town in Sri Lanka there is a problem with waste ( plastic bottles)
There are several resteraunts and lots of lovely cake shops :-)
Everything is very cheap ..food , tuk tuk , train ..and clothes are an outstanding bargain to any visitor

There are so many locations to see.good peoples are around & very safe are. I like the place & the area.i had great time durig the vacation.I guess that threre is 1km around to the beach & also there is a logoon.i have experience the boat safari at the lake. I wish if i could stay few more days to enjoy.

Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. Listening to their different noises. Dining at the Mangrove Cave Restaurant we enjoyed freshest seafood. It was just very tasty.

Most meals were eaten at the Hotel.
Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis.
Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility.
Local fishermen were easy to approach and social chat with.
