United KingdomA wonderful hotel with wonderful staff. It only opened in March but it was very homely and comfortable. Our bedroom was enormous with stunning views of the sea. The pool was perfect and because it is a relatively small hotel, 11 rooms and a penthouse, there wasn’t a problem getting a sun bed regardless of time of day. No towels on sunbeds at sunrise here. Breakfast was good, great juice, fresh fruit and breads to accompany the cooked dishes. I would definitely recommend this hotel for quality and position as there were so many restaurants close by. And loved Kiki the hotel dog who was so sweet.

IrelandWe arrived to the heritage Villa and were greeted with warmth and a welcome drink. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The villa itself is a beautiful restored heritage building which has four bedrooms., all en suite. We took the front ground floor room which had a 2 four poster beds and access out onto the front veranda. The room was beautiful. We also had to use of a really large kitchen which had an outlook on to an internal court yard. There is a huge open high ceiling entrance living room which is perfect to hang out in in the hot weather.
Beyond the property you are located right towards the southern end of Galle fort. This area has perfect for access to the wall and there are ample restaurants and cafes in the vicinity. Our whole experience staying at this heritage Villa was amazing and the staff were fantastic. I would highly recommend staying here it is such an intimate and private place yet you're in the heart of everything.

There’s so much history within the Fort walls to learn about and beautiful architecture to explore. The hosts at the restaurants and hotels inside the Fort are amazing, and the service is truly of international standard. The view of the Indian Ocean from the Ramparts is simply breathtaking. There are plenty of restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines and dishes to try. Outside the Fort, I highly recommend visiting the beaches at Unawatuna, just a few kilometers from Galle City Centre. While you’re there, don’t miss the Japanese Peace Pagoda at Rumassala — you won’t regret it! Yaddehimulla Road in Unawatuna has everything from surf schools and restaurants to gem shops, gelato spots, international cuisines, and everything in between. For quick bites and essentials, SPAR Supermarket at Galle City Centre is your go-to place. we stayed here at the end of September so the sea was not as calm as it would normally be (or so the locals told us) but you could still go into the sea but maybe not for too long. We did not venture into Bentota. We are expats living in Colombo so no need to explore the city. The hotel was at the right spot for a 100% relaxing weekend away with no distractions. The ocean is not that swimmable as the sea was very rough and looked dangerous. The pool was a welcome alternative. We drove to Galle for the Saturday to watch the game between Springboks and Kiwis. Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. My favourite place was the turtle hatchery. Most meals were eaten at the Hotel. Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis. Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility.
