Everything about this hotel was 5 star, the beautiful comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff and delicious breakfast. They were happy to cater for our vegan diet. We had evenings out for dinner and one in the hotel, we should have had all in the hotel as it was so good. The hotel is a twenty mi Ute walk to Galle Fort I will be recommending this lovely hotel to all my friends and family. O

Thank you for the exquisite food and special Biryani and Chicken curry -Chef Deepal De Alwis, Manager Mahesh for considerations and our special requests and complimentary beverages., At the Reception - Niroshan, Tanya and Janani for decorating and upgrading our room to pent house. 3. The room- The dreamy view one would always wish for when staying in a beach facing room. Panaromic view which faced the pool and the beach. The breezy winds and blessing of blooms could be witnessed from the room. 3. The food- Unmatched flavours of the continent and Lanka ! The taste lingers on till the next meal. Well prepared meals with beautiful presentation. The cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Well, Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide spread and wonderful dessert. We recommend it to everyone! I would like to come back here repeatedly!!!

The pool was gorgeous and so much fun, and the tour around the plantation was great and very interesting - my little boy (aged 10) loved it. Our room was amazing, an upstairs room with a mezzanine floor and a window that looked out onto jungle - we saw black monkeys there, as well as elsewhere on the site, and there were so many kingfishers! (A couple of our wildlife shots from the site are added here.) The staff, like everyone in Sri Lanka, were all beautiful people who always went out of their way to help you. We will definitely return!

The New Year’s Eve party was exceptionally well-organized, from the stunning decorations and music to the lavish catering, with all praise going to the staff. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the food is excellent, and the beach and pools are clean and well-maintained, with plenty of sun loungers for relaxation. The Galle Fort in Galle is my absolute favorite place — it...

The Galle Fort in Galle is my absolute favorite place — it has a vibe of its own. It’s completely safe at any time of the day, even for solo travelers. There’s so much history within the Fort walls to learn about and beautiful architecture to explore. The hosts at the restaurants and hotels inside the Fort are amazing, and the service is truly of international standard. The view of the Indian Ocean from the Ramparts is simply breathtaking. There are plenty of restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines and dishes to try. Outside the Fort, I highly recommend visiting the beaches at Unawatuna, just a few kilometers from Galle City Centre. While you’re there, don’t miss the Japanese Peace Pagoda at Rumassala — you won’t regret it! Yaddehimulla Road in Unawatuna has everything from surf schools and restaurants to gem shops, gelato spots, international cuisines, and everything in between. For quick bites and essentials, SPAR Supermarket at Galle City Centre is your go-to place. You’ll find tasty rice and curry meals, ready-to-eat options, mosquito repellent, basic medical supplies, snacks, good-quality fruits, and other everyday necessities.

we stayed here at the end of September so the sea was not as calm as it would normally be (or so the locals told us) but you could still go into the sea but maybe not for too long. We enjoyed ambling around the town and going into Gaul more. We used the pool at our hotel more than the beach here.

We did not venture into Bentota.

We did not venture into Bentota. We are expats living in Colombo so no need to explore the city. The hotel was at the right spot for a 100% relaxing weekend away with no distractions. The ocean is not that swimmable as the sea was very rough and looked dangerous. The pool was a welcome alternative. We drove to Galle for the Saturday to watch the game between Springboks and Kiwis. That was not too far, one hour away and a very scenic route. The hotel was also fully booked so must be popular.

A little town which is friendly colourful with plenty of shops for anything you need …only issue is that like every town in Sri Lanka there is a problem with waste ( plastic bottles) There are several resteraunts and lots of lovely cake shops :-) Everything is very cheap ..food , tuk tuk , train ..and clothes are an outstanding bargain to any visitor Overall a lovely place for great holiday

Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. Listening to their different noises. Dining at the Mangrove Cave Restaurant we enjoyed freshest seafood. It was just very tasty.

Talpe is a beautiful and quiet coastal village, perfect for a peaceful getaway. The beaches are clean and less crowded, with stunning sunsets and even the chance to see sea turtles. It’s a great spot to relax, with a mix of charming villas, friendly locals, and easy access to nearby attractions like Unawatuna and Galle. Ideal for those looking to unwind away from the tourist rush.

My favourite place was the turtle hatchery.

My favourite place was the turtle hatchery. Most meals were eaten at the Hotel. Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis. Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility. Local fishermen were easy to approach and social chat with.
