We stayed for two nights and it was a fantastic time. The breakfast and dinner were super delicious and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The also organised us a safari trip to wilpattu and a very nice transfer to negombo. The hotel has a very nice pool, the place is so lovely with a very green and beautiful environment.

The room condition is a bit old. However, the experience of staying here cannot be evaluated simply by the quality of the accommodation. It is the best. Here, you can feel the philosophy of Bawa that you should be immersed in nature. We spent in hotel only 1 night but if we would stay in Sigiriya longer we would definetly stay here. The second we came, personal were so nice and helpful. Location of hotel is amazing, walk distance to Lion rock and 20 min with tuk tuk to Dambulla caves. The room was spacious, clean, with amazing view. Breakfast in morning was amazing, homemade mix of western and traditional sri lankan dishes with fresh cut fruit. 10/10

Perfect place!!! The cabanas are spacious and very clean with the best shower we had in Sri Lanka. The pool is clean and large and a bonus for hot hours, we were with children who really enjoyed it. The host, Gamani, is so kind, helpful and friendly. We couldn't ask for a better place than this.

The tranquil pool area, with its playful monkeys, added a unique and authentic Sri Lankan touch to our experience. We were thoroughly impressed with the quality and variety of the buffet breakfast and lunch served in your restaurant. The extensive selection catered to all tastes, and the authentic Sri Lankan dishes were particularly delicious. The dessert spread, especially the fresh fruits, was also a delightful treat. A special mention must go to Lalith, our room butler. His attentiveness and dedication to meeting our every need were exceptional. He consistently went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well-prepared for our excursions. His service truly enhanced our stay and made us feel incredibly well looked after. Cinnamon Lodge Habarana is a true gem, and it is the exceptional staff, like Lalith, that make it truly special. If we are fortunate enough to return to Habarana, we will undoubtedly choose to stay at Cinnamon Lodge again.

The resort is put together beautifully. peaceful and perfectly blended with the natural surroundings. Our water dwelling was just stunning. The attention to detail and the room layout are awesome. The service was outstanding. A special thank you to Ravindra and Amila, who looked after us throughout our stay. It’s great to have a personal butler, but what made the experience really special was how genuinely they cared about making us feel at home. The guided tour of Sigiriya Rock and the elephant safari are well-organized, and the naturalists who joined us were knowledgeable and making the trips more than worthwhile. If you’re planning to do these kinds of trips, definitely go with a guide. The food was another highlight with attention to local dishes as well as international cuisine.

People advised us to have 2 days in Kandy - we would have been fine with just one. The weather did not help us it rained on and off the entire time we were there. Temple of the Sacred Tooth - tick - walk around the Botanical gardens - tick - Shopping DISMAL - Kandyan dance performance extremely touristy. I wish we had allocated an extra day for the hill country instead of Kandy, Best meal we had was at the Hideaway Lounge. Central market - awful fresh food and spices but seriously hideous tourist souvenirs. Old building needs renovation.

I’ll never forget the day we spent climbing Sigiriya.

I’ll never forget the day we spent climbing Sigiriya. And no wonder such a wonderful World Heritage Site kept popping up everywhere: Test it against the massive old fortress, the gorgeous frescoes, and images taken of landscapes from the summit, and there you’ll pick one of Sri Lanka’s greatest treasures. Not an easy or casual climb but certainly one that throws panoramic views so very far worth it and lucid into history at every step. Water gardens at the bottom quite worth a visit. One has to get there at dawn to avoid numerous tourists and scorching sun. Thus, in general, Sigiriya is a combination of artistic creation, engineering work of antiquity, and a miracle of nature, and a must-see site in Sri Lanka.

During my stay, the property owner made several inappropriate and judgmental comments about my affordability and my decision to share meals with my mother, who is disabled. His behaviour was rude and discriminatory. After I posted my review describing my disappointment, the owner contacted me directly on my personal mobile number using very abusive and offensive language. This message was completely unacceptable and made me feel unsafe.

We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from...

We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from Adam's Peak!) but instead chose the much shorter Pidurangala which afforded a fabulous view of Sigiriya. Highly recommended. A visit to the Bawa hotel, Heritance Kandalama, is well worth it as an insight into the brilliant architectural mind of Geoffrey Bawa.

Half a day was enough as the sun was out and draining. At the last stop in Polonnaruwa where you have the temple there was a young man sketching and painting. There was also an older gentleman selling Neem & Jamun tree wood containers and tumblers for keeping water in the night and drinking in the morning Neem for better all over health & Jamun for decreasing blood sugar.

Farm Cottage was peaceful and very comfortable. The room was clean and cozy, and the surroundings were quiet and relaxing. The host was friendly and helpful. A perfect place to unwind – I’d definitely stay again!

A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree...

A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree view points. But if it rains it will ruin your plans. So make sure you depend on weatherly and visit Matale when it shows many continuous sunny days. Even on cloudy forecasts do not visit as all mointain tops then will be covered and you will not see the sights. when it is humid leaches also will be active and will become a painful experience.

Kandy is an interesting historic city, with a number of must...

Kandy is an interesting historic city, with a number of must see sights - the Temple of The tooth, a walk around the lake, the Big Buddha. Peradeniya Botanical Gardens are just on the edge of the city. The market is bustling. If you are there in late July/early August you may catch the Perahera Festival - a parade of dressed elephants, fire whirlers, Kandy Dancers, Drummers and whip crackers.

There is so much more to do in this area than I realised.

There is so much more to do in this area than I realised. I will definitely come back. The area is beautiful and we were sad to leave. We dud Pidurangala Rock which was fun, more of an adventurous climb than Lions Rock. It has incredible views of Lions Rock. We also did a safari in Minneriya National Park. The park was beautiful and we saw so many elephants plus lots of varieties of birds, golden jackals, monkees, mongoose, the grizzled giant squirrel, buffalo and jungle foul. We also went to Dambula Temple Caves which is very spiritual and Luckgrove Spice Gardens which was an incredible experience. Highly recommend this area.

We loved our Homestay chez Olivia .

We loved our Homestay chez Olivia . Lovely couple very hospitable and helpful. Hired bikes which was wonderful to go see all the Stupa sites etc. beautiful area & lovely garden. Birdlife was fabulous. Highly recommend
