The location was great. If you don't want to stay in crowded Arugambay this is the right place for you. You have your own pirvate beach, a little cabana, good food at the restaurant and it is the cleanest hotel we have been in Sri Lanka.

The hotel is phenomenal. The lovely German owner is really accommodating and friendly. The staff are also great. Everything about this place is perfect and if I could give it a 12 I would. We went during the off season (January) so the town was very quiet, which made having this accommodation all the more better.

This hotel is brand new, so everything feels clean, fresh, and modern. The facilities are excellent — each room has a lovely outdoor chill-out area, and the garden adds a nice relaxing touch. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

The hotel is absolutely new. Our room was spacious, fresh, and very clean, with a nice and well-maintained bathroom. If I ever visit Arugam Bay again, I would definitely stay here again — out of all the hotels in this price range, this one is the best! The hotel is run by a very polite and kind family who made us feel welcome. The location was excellent — on the main road, within walking distance to cafes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and just a 10-minute tuk-tuk ride to the beach, but you can also walk to it (20 minutes) It was quiet at night, and we had a very peaceful stay. There’s also a lake next to the hotel, where elephants sometimes come to drink — a beautiful sight to witness. All guest rooms are located on the second floor. They also plan to open a restaurant soon on the ground floor.

I had a truly pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were kind, attentive, and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. The most amazing stay highly recommended!* ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I stayed at *Doppel Gangs* in Arugam Bay and had the most unforgettable experience. The hotel is in the *perfect location* close enough to the main road (just a 1-minute walk!) to access everything easily, but tucked away enough to enjoy peace and quiet without the crowds and noise. The hotel is *by far the cleanest* I’ve stayed at in Sri Lanka, with daily housekeeping that keeps everything fresh. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. There’s also a *really nice pool*, perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. But what truly made this stay exceptional was the *incredible staff*, especially *Hibed*. We were a group of 8 girls and one boy, and from the moment we arrived, Hibed went *above and beyond* to make us feel safe, welcomed, and cared for. His kindness, thoughtfulness, and attentiveness were beyond anything we expected. He was always there to help whether it was organizing *tuk tuk rides* at *any time, to any place, with any notice*, fixing a ripped pair of pants with a local seamstress, or surprising us with freshly made yogurt. Every little thing he did added to the magic of our stay. I’ve stayed at many hotels around the world, but I’ve *never* encountered a staff that had such a genuine impact on my overall experience. *Thank you, Doppel Gangs, for an incredible stay. We’ll never forget it.* Can't wait to come back!

Our stay at Beach Wave Hotel has been the best experience we've had on our holiday. The room is very comfortable, and has a lovely balcony with hammoch (beach view) which is perfect to relax in after a long day out. The location was excellent, it is a 05 second walk to the beach and is ideally located to all necessary amenities, e.g. restaurants , bars, supermarkets, ATMs, etc. Our experience would not have been possible without Beach Waves extremely kind and tireless host, Naleem, who is attentive to his guests' every needs. Silmir organised our travel to Arugam Bay, and to the airport, he also arranged for our surf lessons, and the excursions we were interested in. SIlmir does not overcharge or take a commission on any of these services, he simply provides you the best price and best person for the job. We surfed with the best surf school in Arugam Bay, and he was even kind enough to assist with getting a special massage for my partner's sprained ankle. Highly recommend this place and Value for the stay! Beach Wave Hotel is really the only option to choose when deciding where to stay in Arugam Bay!

    Comfortable bed, very big bathroom, good AC, with balcony. The room has everything I needed and was clean. It's very quiet, no noise from the street in the room, but still located at the main street and close to the beach, just a short walk! The hotel has a restaurant so it's possible to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner there. The breakfast is amazing, I especially like that I got a different breakfast every day and the portions are big. The staff is very nice. The owner is very kind and helped me with everything, I felt home here and ended up staying for a long time. I totally recommend this hotel, for short or long stays.

    After 2 weeks in Sri Lanka we wanted a luxury one night stay somewhere special, and we certainly got that. The place is beautiful and well kept. The staff are very friendly and professional. The food was fantastic and the chefs clearly know what they are doing. We stayed in a bungalow with your own small private pool, and the bed was so comfortable. It was so nice to have some peace and quiet. Thank you all for a wonderful day and evening. Highly recommend!

    Incredibly large room with attic, excellent customer service and breakfast variety. The chilling lounge is the best space to be with lots of games available and cool music. Staff spends hours each day keeping the tropical forest around accomodation tidy or help with luggage up the stairs.

    You are more likely to meet a European than a local here.

    You are more likely to meet a European than a local here. This is definately not a reflection on Sri Lankan culture, however the beach town is slow and quiet (realtively speaking) and there are plenty of shops and restaurants. And of coure, the surf is consistent and the water warm. It's a winner for a beach holiday.

    The best feature of Arugam Bay is the surrounding jungle, lakes and lagoons. The main beach is very busy but other beaches, such as Peanut Farm are less crowded, Do thye Lagoon Safari and a park safari but also try surfing and relaxing on the beach.
