I liked the spacious rooms. It allowed 3 suitcases to be opened at once. The washroom and shower was large enough to comfortably move around and the beds allowed a good night's sleep.

Everything :) All staff were so friendly, informative and professional. Very fluent in English too which we really appreciate. I had a nice experience at the spa. Clean and spacious room. I chose this hotel primarily for its excellent location, being just one train stop away from Kansai Airport, which made it incredibly convenient for my travel plans. I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious and clean the room was, much larger than I expected for a hotel near an airport. The view from my room was a real bonus, as I could see the airport and surrounding areas, which added a nice touch to the overall experience. The facilities were well-maintained, and I appreciated the attention to detail in cleanliness. The bed was comfortable, and the room had everything I needed to feel at ease. Despite being close to the airport, it was surprisingly quiet, so I had a very restful stay. The breakfast was another highlight of my visit. Not only did the dining area offer a lovely view, but there was also a wide variety of food to choose from, with options to suit different tastes. Whether you prefer traditional Japanese dishes or more Western-style options, there was something for everyone, and everything was fresh and well-prepared. Overall, I’m really glad I picked this hotel. It exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort, convenience, and service. I would definitely stay here again, especially if I have an early flight from Kansai Airport.

I loved the design of the hotel room, good mix of Japanese and modern style. The room was spacious and very comfortably furnished. At the reception you can use coffee machine, make tea etc - very convenient. The hotel has an excellent location, walking distance to most of the attractions and 3 min from the nearest bus stop. The reception staff is very kind and speaks very good English.

    September was much too hot and humid for a visit.

    September was much too hot and humid for a visit. Not sure when is cooler, though! The key tourist sites are overrun now, so head for the “atypical” locations - there are so many temples you don’t have to see the usual ones. Nijo-Jo castle is a must, but go later in the day to avoid crowds. Make sure you try the really small kitchen/resurants, where some of the cooking is exceptional.

    Kobe is a great city to visit.

    Kobe is a great city to visit. A vibrant, buzzing and cosmopolitan city with memorable features such as the ropeway to the herb garden at the JR Shin Kobe Station at Sannomiya (an absolute must for visitors), the Maya cable car and ropeway and the Akashi bridge to Awaji Island.

    Nara is beautiful.

    Nara is beautiful. There are two UNESCO world heritage sites and lots of deer. If you are afraid of animals, I don't recommend it. The deer will follow you if you have food and they may try to take it from you if you hesitate or don't gently push them away. They are not, as a general rule, aggressive. A lot of tourists freak out and just throw their crackers. Don't do that. Stay calm. The deer don't want to hurt you, they just want a snack. They don't care for being pet either. Just snap your crackers (200 yen sold at different stands) into 3-4 pieces, hold out your hand flat and let them take it from you. Be aware of how many are around you. They will surround and nibble your clothing. I found this hilarious. I grew up with cows and they will pretty much do the same thing. Use your voice and be gentle. The one day bus pass is really useful. I wish I had more time in Nara.

    We only stayed one night when we arrived as we needed a place to recharge and freshen up before we head to Kyoto. The hotel is very nice with complete amenities in the room. The room we occupied has the view of the airport runway but we never heard any noise coming from the airplanes arriving and taking off. A bit expensive but it was worth it. Breakfast buffet was very good too.

    Himeji is obviously very famous for its castle, but other than that lacks many things to do. I found my time there to be rather boring, and we often struggled to find activities to fill our nights with. We used Himeji as a central location to take day trips from - since we booked during Golden Week, hotel prices in more ideal areas, such as Kobe, were heavily inflated and unreasonable.

    We are Americans so we had really little knowledge of...

    We are Americans so we had really little knowledge of Shirahama as a resort city. It was at the tail end of a 3 week tour of Japan and was very restful. Fortunately, we were there after Golden Week and before the main tourist season, so it was quiet and relaxing. We had fun over two nights at a local Turkish restaurant, Blue Bar. We'd recommend it. Also, the beach seemed quite nice although we had one day or rain so we didn't hang out there. While this wouldn't be a regular stop for Americans, I think it is worthwhile and an easy train ride to the airport in Osaka.

    One of Japan's six ancient kiln towns. If you are into ceramics it's a brilliant place to visit. If you're not, it's a lovely, relaxed town with nice walks and good places to eat. Very close to Nagoya airport. There is a free shuttle bus into Tokoname or use the station. Home of the lucky waving cat - Maneki Neko!

    The scenic mountains near the city offers stunning sunset views. The Sakura were in full bloom. There are several parks around the city, and the impressive Wakayama castle. The hotel (Candeo Hotels Nankai) is great value - fantastic river views, rooftop onsen that you can enjoy the sunset. And right at the Wakayama Station. Good dining options around the hotel too.

    We loved our trip here.

    We loved our trip here. Little did I know, I seem to enjoy travelling in a pretty laid-back city and Ise was just perfect for that. If you're craving for a small city experience, out from the other international travelers, I'd recommend Ise for sure.
