Alessia and her staff were amazing! She met us at the train station because we had a lot of luggage, and accompanied us to the nearby hotel on foot! We had just stayed in a five-star hotel in Zurich that promise to meet us at the train stations but never did. So the experience with Alessia was better than being at a five-star hotel! Sei stelle!

This year, we finally managed to book a room for the dates we wanted – and it exceeded all our expectations. The rooms are stunning, and the bed was so incredibly comfy that I honestly don’t think I’ve ever slept better! The food? Still absolutely delicious. And the staff? I’d gladly take them home with me. Amazingly designed properly with next level views of snow capped mountains. Host were so accommodating and the place was impeccable. A really short walk to town centre where the coffee and food will blow your mind. The walk back up the hill helps burn a few calories after the pizza, pasta and beer! We will be back with my family without a question. Apart from the accommodation I have fallen in love with Bormio. Honestly my favourite part of Italy.

My favourite hotel on our motorcycle tour. I cannot think of a hotel - anywhere - that we have been so warmly welcomed by the staff. Every member of the team we met was so nice and friendly - it was superb. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and the cleaning team are always to be seen taking care of the building. Its in a great position - close enough to the centre of Livigno action - but far enough away for a quiet nights sleep. I'd paid up for a superior room and we had a lovely balcony and a large, spacious and very comfortable room with a good sized and equipped bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the room quiet at night and we got a good nights sleep both nights of our stay. (although on visiting livigno you might want to do some star-gazing in the small hours as there is so little light pollution in the region it is spectacular!) We actually took a bit of chance on "half-board" which i don't normally do, but it was very good value being offered - the food was SUPERB - a great choice on the menu and we were very happy that we chose to take this. And again, we were looked after by lovely staff in the restaurant for both our evening meals and the great breakfast on offer. Finally - as a motorcycle traveller, i was able to get a space in their underground car park which was easy to access and i was happy to leave my bike there. I really cannot rate this hotel highly enough and I am looking forward to returning soon.

    The staff at this hotel is truly exceptional. They went out of their way to help us with concerns and even squeezed us in for dinner after our arrival was set back by heavy rains in the mountain pass. The decor is cozy; the entire ambiance was befitting a stay in the Alps and, although we stayed in the early autumn, I would think that this would be such a warm, happy place to come after a day on the slopes. My favorite thing was the outdoor seating areas and garden; it's peaceful and beautiful. We're so glad we stayed here!

    There's so much to do in the area. we went summer skiing at...

    There's so much to do in the area. we went summer skiing at the glacier (Stelvio), which was ok (lots of long lines for the button lifts because of the hundreds of ski club teams). But the nearby QC Terme Bagni Vecchi was amazing. Would like to have stayed longer for hiking and mountain biking. Very nice little town and beautfil surroundings.

    Beautiful countryside and perfect for walking or cycling in the hillsides around the village, plus some really nice restaurants open late into the evening filled with people who all appeared to be having a good time. Also great to be able to do some duty free shopping.

    Nice to wander among the cobbled streets of the old town and set off on the wine trail among the vineyards. Walk for as far as you want then head down to the valley floor to get a bus back to Sondrio. Great walks in Valmalenco. Not far to Switzerland - Passo Bernina is very picturesque.

    Morbegno is a convenient place to stay in the Valtellina area. We travelled here from Menaggio on Lake Como . On the way we went on a small detour to see the Acquafraggia waterfalls and the amazing Palazzo Vertamate Franchi. We took a nice day trip from Morbegno to the Gerola Alta to visit the Bitto cheese museum . When departing we were needing to get to Tirano in the morning to get on the spectacular Bernina Express train. This was a convenient place to travel from .

    A very pleasant and charming small town nestled in the mountains. The town reflects its rich history, yet it offers plenty of small shops. The mountain slopes are right next door and easily accessible from the town. The opportunities for cycling, spa visits, and hiking are fantastic!

    Livigno is one of a kind.

    Livigno is one of a kind. Location is distant from everything, but the place is magical. Almost always sunny, be prepared for a lot of sun. Great italian cuisine. Good prices as it is duty free zone. A lot of fun on and off pistes and of course crazy apres-ski parties every day :-)

    Would advise travelling into Switzerland on the Bernina Express rather than the other way. Tirano seems like a place to move on from to be honest. A single night was OK, but not sure we'd have enjoyed staying much longer...
