Casa Poli was a thoroughly pleasant experience, which exceeded my expectations. Top reasons: + Staff > extremely nice, attentive and helpful with great endeavour to make guests happy + Room & bathroom > modern tasteful design | comprehensive equipment in top shape and spotlessly clean (esp. to mention: good reading lamps) | comfortable noise protection of wall and windows (during my trip in Italy this was the only hotel where nothing was heard from the adjacent rooms, even though they were all occupied) + Breakfast > rich buffet with high-quality products (in my opinion above standard in Italy) "Grazie mille" to the Casa Poli team. And special thanks to Rachele who helped me with much concern when I fell victim of a national train strike on my departure day.

A hotel, or strictly speaking, a homestay (like an air B&B), is located in a centuries old Italian Renaissance palace. This hotel only has 6 guest rooms open to the public, the rest are for the exclusive use of the palace owner. The hotel is conveniently located next to the central square, surrounded by famous historical landmarks. The hotel rooms are very spacious and tall, with clean and comfortable beds. The breakfast restaurant is located on the square, serving a typical Italian breakfast with Cappuccino and Corinne. Although it's a bit simple, enjoying an Italian style breakfast in the sunshine is also very pleasant and enjoyable. Butler part-time waiter and boss part-time waiter are both very friendly and hospitable.

The location was superb, outside of the city but still super close. The host was really kind and suggested a good restaurant for us. We had a dog with us and she was really enjoying the open space and the huge yard. Suoper clean and very accomodating.

Mantova is a quaint historical town with much to see.

Mantova is a quaint historical town with much to see. We encountered two festivals that enhanced the visit. The town has many delightful restaurants that excite the palate. The town is known for its sbrisolona and squash filled tortellini. Both quite delicious. Based on the ancient history and that of the Gonzagas there is much to see.

This small town makes a good spot from which you can make excursions into the larger historic city of Mantova. The people were friendly and welcoming. We discovered one main restaurant called Le Scuderie which had a large menu and excellent food.

2 nights / days in Mantova was perfect. Its a hidden gem.

2 nights / days in Mantova was perfect. Its a hidden gem. So rare to be able to go to places like this with no crowds, great food/culture and atmosphere. Didn't feel ripped off, prices were reasonable. The sites were as good as if not better than Venice minus the canals and crowds. They don't call this town/city the inland Venice for nothing.
