- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Excellent - What previous guests thought, 90 reviewsThe hotel garden was incredible and the whole setting picture perfect! A generous breakfast was provided on a lovely piazzetta under the trees, the menu and wine list at the restaurant were very good, the bars and the pool/sea area were all generously setup. The golf cart provided was most useful given how the hotel is set on the side of the mountain and climbing between levels can be quite taxing. Most importantly, the entire staff but especially the golf cart driver and the restaurant staff, were extremely helpful and courteous.Guest review byDeborahItaly

The city is amazingly cleaner and tidier than the last time we were there 2 years ago. Expect crowds at the "must see" sites, so also visit less busy areas, like Testaccio. The Nuovo Mercato Esquilino is quite amazing and real, while Campo d' Fiori has become mainly tacky souvenir stalls. Salumeria Roscioli and Taverna Volpetti are 2 favourites for food. Trams, buses, and metro are all easy to access, and when the engineering miracle of the new metro C-line is finished, more of the city will be easily accessible. Day trips out of the city to places like Tivoli and Frascati are fun. The "Lungotevere" held along the river in June, is special and romantic.Guest review byBelindaCanada - 6.0

It is a good transit town for flights in and out of Rome for a one or two night stay. There is a nice beach and also a marina. Plenty of restaurants and a good Conad supermarket near the Marina. The streets have lots of refuse and could be better kept. Fine for a short stay but not somewhere I would stay for a holiday per say. Our accommodation provided transport to and from the airport which was a bonus. If your accommodation does not provide this, factor in taxi rides at about 30 Euros each wayGuest review byAnonymous - 6.0

There is no easy walking access to the cruise port or terminals, you will have to book a taxi OR take a bus from the train station to the port (40e). It is confusing and not well detailed by the cruise companies - do your research. Taxi from the train station to an apartment is equally a hassle (30e minimum).Guest review byAlanUnited States - 10.0

I don't think many people think of "going to the beach" in Rome, but it's only about 30 minutes away and costs $1.50 by public transit. The town itself is a little slow when not in high beach season, but there are loads of restaurants and shops to keep you busy if the beach isn't your thing. Public transport is great. And, you can visit incredible recently unearthed Roman Ruins of Ostia Antica very easily.Guest review byMichelle KinchUnited States - 8.0

Viterbo is a lovely town to visit and it is definitely a trip worth it if you want to escape all the hassle and bustle of Rome. Viterbo has a unique charm and I fell in love with it when I walked the Via Francigena. I stayed in Orchard Bed & Breakafast in Viterbo centre on the Via francigena path as it is available for pilgrims. Viterbo has more than one Spa resort. There are plenty of restaurants and the city is booming with vibrance and cafes. staying 3 nights in Viterbo was definitely worth it. The Park is lovely and the people are friendly. You do not have to worry about theft or other annoying misdemeanors. I would recommend 'Pizza Express'. It is an Indian restaurant, reasonable price and offers a wide range of dishes!!!Guest review byAquilaIreland - 10.0

During my visit to Gaeta, I was truly impressed by several places in this charming coastal town. I especially loved walking along the seaside promenade and the beautiful avenue of plane trees—it was very relaxing and scenic. The old town with its colorful streets and historic buildings was also a highlight. For a quick bite or a casual meal, there are plenty of great options. I particularly enjoyed the local cafés and restaurants where you can try fresh seafood and traditional Italian dishes. There are also small grocery stores nearby if you prefer to grab something on the go. Getting around Gaeta is quite easy. The town is compact, so most places can be reached on foot, and it’s very pleasant to explore the streets at a leisurely pace. For families with young children, I would highly recommend visiting the beaches, which are clean and safe. A walk along the promenade or a visit to the Spanish Fortress on Monte Orlando is also fun and manageable with kids. The town has a relaxed atmosphere, making it perfect for families to enjoy both sightseeing and leisure time together.Guest review byЖаннаUkraine - 10.0

Villa d’Este was amazing and had waterfalls to rival Palace of Versailles. The walk through Villa Gregoriana gardens down the side of the hill to the bottom of the waterfalls was a solid hike and not for the feeble. Definitely take a couple of hours to visit Hadrian’s Villa (aka Villa Adriana) which had amazing historical half crumbling palace and ornamental lake.Guest review bySharee F.Australia - 10.0

Beyond gorgeous. It’s a dream vacation spot and easily travelled by electric bike to all the beaches. Mostly Italian tourists which made it seem much more chilled out than other beach spots in Italy. Highly recommendGuest review byKristinaUnited States - 10.0

Ciampino is a lovely typical Italian town, it’s not very touristy but the locals etc still make you very welcome. It is also excellent if your flying to Ciampino airport it’s literally about 9 minutes on the bus (Airport to the town). If you were stuck for transport from the airport to the hotel I’m sure you could walk it in about 20-25 minutes 😁.Guest review byScott&ElaineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Cassino is a town of much historical significance and is very welcoming to visitors. The abbey is a must see, as are the war cemeteries. I recommend a guide, mine was Dr Danila Bracaglia who is so knowledgeable.Guest review byROSEUnited Kingdom
