Excellent location and grounds. Beautiful family run hotel. Dario and Paola could not do enough for you. All the staff from the cleaners to the waiters to the gardener have a genuine smile on their face. If I could give 20/10 I would. We enjoyed our time so much we booked extra nights. We are already planning a return visit. The Hotel is spotlessly clean. Many Thanks from Conor and Nicola.

LOVED THIS STAY! The location is perfect. Very close to a beach. The bus stop is VERY close to the hotel. Sant Angelo is close enough to walk to. Luana and her team are so sweet. Sabrina is awesome. They do everything they can to ensure you are having the vacation of a lifetime. Incredible.

I just spent three unforgettable days at Hotel Villa Rita, and I honestly cannot express how warm and kind the people here are. From the first moment, they made me feel like a family member. Rita, her brother Gerard, their father and aunt — all of them welcomed me with so much heart and humility. The villa is in a peaceful, authentic part of Ischia, far from the tourist chaos. It’s the kind of place where you feel at home, where you can truly rest, reconnect, and be cared for. This is the best place on Maronti Beach. The view from our balcony was simply stunning. The freshly prepared breakfast was delightful and delicious. The sea was crystal clear and located just beneath our windows. We visited many restaurants on this beach, but the tastiest food was at our hotel’s restaurant, which we enjoyed under the sound of the waves and the glow of candlelight.

Picturesque Island of Volcanic Rock, Thermal Spas and Pristine Beaches

Located 30 km from Naples and formed by a complex volcano, the pristine and breathtaking Ischia Island is Mother Nature’s hidden gem in the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is surrounded by an unspoiled coastline, thermal spas, several hiking routes and spectacular scenery.

Built in 474 BC, Aragonese Castle which is perched on natural volcanic rock, is the most impressive historical monument on Ischia Island, and is a modern day reminder of the islands past. Another wonder of island is the Gardens of La Mortella. Filled with tropical and Mediterranean plants, these picture-perfect gardens offer some of the best views over the region and Forio Harbour.

Other attractions on Ischia Island are beaches such as Maronti Beach and Citara Beach. There is also the Angelo Rizzoli Museum, which is a museum of the famous Italian publisher and film producer Angelo Rizzoli, along with the mushroom rock (known to locals as the Fungo) located just off the port of Lacco Ameno. Several local restaurants and bars are scattered around the island serving traditional and local delights.

One of the most interesting and unique areas on Ischia Island is the bay of Citara, and the famous Poseidon thermal Gardens. It features several pools, spas, a traditional Roman Sauna, a private beach and various restaurants. Visitors also have great transportation links by bus around the island.

    Ischia is a great island for vacation - there are many sandy beaches, spectacular views, a lot of greenery and of course delicious food. It is not difficult to go around the island by car. The roads are narrow and with many turns, and many people are driving motorbikes which makes driving difficult but you can survive:) People are very friendly and calm. The food is amazing, especially pasta in any form! The island is easy to reach - the are ferries from Naples, about an hour from there. Highly recommend Ischia to visit!

    This is just a wonderful place.

    This is just a wonderful place. We were there in August which should be high season but it wasn't too crowded. You of course have to have some tourism so that restaurants and shopping will thrive and for us this is just the perfect balance. Not too many people "in your way" but still enough to have a variety of restaurants, shops and all sorts of services. We will 100% be returning to Ischia... most likely more than once and more than twice.

    Visiting Ischai with a car was challenging.

    Visiting Ischai with a car was challenging. We pre booked the Ferry but still needed to exchange our reservation for a ticket. We struggled to locate the ticket office at the port and we couldn't get a ticket for both crossings and was only issued a ticket for the single journey so we needed to locate the ticket office both in our outbound and inbound journey which was a pain. Reversing the car onto the car ferry was also challenging. The Island is a little grubby, the architecture is in poor repair and the roads are challenging. Some of the people were friendly but in general we found the people a little rude and ignorant. Driving was also quite challenging with other drivers being very aggressive. The beaches were a little hit and miss. The beaches in the towns were busy and crowded with locals, if you moved out beyond towns you can find less crowded beaches but with basic facilities. The Island is very hilly and it was too difficult to walk anywhere we needed a car but you can hire scooters very easily on the Island. The food options were very good with Excellent Pizza - We recommend Bar Franco in Lacco Amenco it was one of the highlights our our trip - we went back twice in 4 days.
